Food Review: The Dempsey Brasserie

The Place There are many hip joints around Dempsey which serves brunch on weekends such as PS Cafe and Jones the Grocer. The Dempsey Brasserie is one of the latest to offer brunch as well. I was initially drawn to its high ceiling industrial interior and hence decided to drop by on a Sunday afternoon.

The Food The usual brunch selections are found here at The Dempsey Brasserie as well such as Eggs Benedict, Pancakes and Scrambled Eggs.

For a start, I decided to order the Mocha ($7) which failed to perk me up. The aroma of the coffee is lacking and the end product is a diluted cuppa drink.

IMG_8326For appetisers, we tried the Truffle Fries ($13) which I think is average at best. It is overpriced in my opinion and apart from the generous sprinkle of truffle powder, it is pretty much an average plate of fries.

IMG_8334 For our brunch selections, the Eggs Benedict ($18) is a huge disappointment as the eggs were not well done to eggs benedict standards. For the record, the eggs were not even runny at all but were rather solidified instead.

IMG_8340 A good choice to share would be the Mini Burger Board ($22) which did not arrive in a board unfortunately. This is pretty overpriced as well in my opinion with just 3 mini cheese burgers and fries. The burgers are at most average, as the patty is too dry and feels like it is of low quality.

Rants Food is overpriced here and the quality is something which needs to be improved on.

Will I return again? I am a firm believer of quality food and there is no reason to return here again for the simplest reason.
