The Place Perched at the top of Mt Faber is Faber Bistro, a casual Western restaurant run by the Mt Faber Leisure Group.
The city view from the alfresco dining area where we were seated is panoramic beauty. It is ideal for a romantic date, where you can have your dinner while enjoying the view of Singapore from Mt Faber and possibly stargazing as well if the sky is clear.
The Food is a mix of Italian cuisine from Pasta and Pizza to German fare such as sausages, as well as the usual Western Steak and Fries. There is also a comprehensive list of wine and beer to choose from, with happy hour prices before 8pm.
For appetisers, we had the Fries ($5.50) and Bavarian Sausage Platter ($20) which is ideal for sharing among a group of people. The sausage platter is a good mix of chicken and pork sausages.
For mains, we shared the Prosciutto Pizza ($20) which has truffle oil as toppings. Unfortunately, the pizza is mediocre as the truffle taste is not strong enough and the crust is too fluffy for our liking. It could have been better if the crust is crispier instead.
Will I return again? Yes. Prices are affordable given the awesome alfresco ambience where the city view makes it all worthwhile to make a trip here. The only downside is that you probably have to get here by car or the cable car.
