My most recent trip to Switzerland was after a hiatus of about seven years, so the objective was to take it slow and visit the towns which I didn’t manage to cover during my exchange days at St. Gallen. As a renowned ski town, Adelboden is a small quaint town that I never imagine myself to visit if not for The Cambrian Hotel, Adelboden. Branded as a Swiss luxury hotel in Adelboden, I was attracted to the Cambrian by its wellness concept, the contemporary Swiss design of the hotel’s interior and the rooms which overlook the Swiss alps. I guess these are enough reasons to warrant a visit here at least once in my life.

From Frutigen station, it was a swift 30 minutes bus ride up to the town of Adelboden, where the Cambrian hotel is strategically located, literally right opposite the bus terminal.

The Cambrian Hotel Adelboden: It was love at first sight the moment I stepped into hotel Cambrian. The hotel lobby shouts sleek contemporary in terms of its interior design, from the modern paintings and furniture.

I went to check out the lounge excitedly, and was greeted with this panoramic view.

On a bright and sunny day, I can foresee that the outdoor lounge is the perfect spot to soak in the sun.

The Room: The Deluxe room I stayed in comes with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous mountain. The contemporary interior of the room is cosy and well-equipped.

I swear I can sit at the balcony all day if not for the fact that it could get a little too cold in November, but who can resist day dreaming with such a view?

The Facilities: I practically spent half my time in the heated outdoor Jacuzzi, which is really not huge and can potentially get very crowded. But thanks to low season in November, there were moments where I enjoyed the whole Jacuzzi to myself, as well as the awesome mountain view.

If you are in need of a good massage, the spa packages are quite comprehensive.

If you are a gym junkie like me, the gym at the hotel is decently equipped. We had our dinner at the bar located in the hotel lobby as we were too lazy to walk out at night in the cold weather,

It was nice having the burger and rosti from the bar at the lobby.

Breakfast the next morning was at the hotel’s restaurant, with a good spread of eggs, croissant, smoked salmon, juices and yogurt, just to name a few. We were utterly spoilt for the whole morning of breakfast buffet.

Overall Experience: I came to Hotel Cambrian with the intention of recharging. With no specific agenda or checklist in my mind, this is a perfect property to stay in if you are seeking for some solace, as the natural beauty of Adelboden and the comfortable Hotel Cambrian should not disappoint.
