Food Review: PS.Cafe At Harding Road | One Of The Most Beautiful Restaurants In Dempsey

The Place Yes, it’s been around for ages. So imagine my surprise when I realised I have not formally review this space. PS.Cafe at Harding has certainly come a long way, being the brand’s second outlet and it already boasts eight outlets across the island today. Opened since 2005, I revisited Harding Road’s outlet at Dempsey Hill recently again and like an old vinyl player, it seems like it has never gone out of fashion.

Walk through the lush greenery and the sprawling space is nestled within the greens. There are plenty of alfresco seats which overlook the forest, though I would much prefer to dine in the comfort of the air-conditioned indoor seats. Some parts of the indoor tables are dimmer, and the best tables are definitely the ones beside the floor to ceiling glass panes with a healthy dose of dreamy natural lighting. No prizes for guessing which table I requested for.

The unique proposition of every PS.Cafe outlet is that the interior is never uniform, though you can be promised of a handsome look and sometimes with a view, such as PS.Cafe One Fullerton.

The Food The menu is always extensive at PS.Cafe, with options like pastas, pizzas, meats and a wide array of desserts to choose from. I didn’t manage to try much on my last visit as it was in between meals, but there are two dishes which can’t go wrong here.

One of the signature dishes here and probably the first few establishments to start the truffle fries trend, the PS. Truffle Shoestring Fries (S$15) is an obligatory order. You get a mountain of fried drizzled with truffle, fried to a nice crisp texture. It is challenging for a couple to finish this huge portion, but there is no regrets ordering it.

For desserts, there are many cake options as displayed in the restaurant if you are a visual diner. Go for the Carrot Cake (S$11), a not too sweet version which stands tall and best paired with a black coffee.

Rants The price at PS.Cafe has always been mid-range, and definitely priced higher than the average cafe.

Will I Return Again? This is still one of the most gorgeous PS.Cafe outlet. The ambience is great, and it is especially difficult to find a spacious and lush dining space in Singapore. From the diner perspective, it would be perfect if the restaurant is less busy.
