Food Review: Dutch Colony Coffee @ PasarBella
The Place We have been to PasarBella on several occasions previously and there is always reason to be back again. This is probably one unique atas market concept which I have not yet seen elsewhere on this island. There are more than twenty stalls at PasarBellla – from Seafood to Kebab to Coffee to Organic mart, there is something for every one.
Dutch Colony Coffee is one of the many stalls here and it is quite difficult to miss the big coffee roasting machine at this mini cafe. Seats are limited and it is no wonder why it is so packed, since it is also the only place serving coffee in PasarBella.
The coffee beans are sourced from various countries such as Brazil, Colombia and Ethiopia and are roasted freshly every morning right at the stall. Take away beans are also available in 250g takeaway bags.
Where the daily roasting of beans take place – the coffee roasting machine!
The Food As a stall serving serious coffee, there is no other food served here other than some cakes to go with the coffee.
We swear by the Organic Red Velvet cake ($7) which is THE BEST we have had in Singapore so far. The red velvet cake is not too sweet and sufficiently moist, with every bite taken leading to the next. Would highly recommend it if you are a red velvet lover.
Of course, we cannot miss out ordering some coffee to complete our afternoon. The Cafe Mocha ($5) and Flat White ($4.50) both did not disappoint. The coffee is aromatic and strong in flavour, and can we also mention that we heart the colourful utensils?
Will I return again? Reasonably priced quality coffee with awesome red velvet cake, can we say no?
