Snippets: Wine Fiesta 2016 Singapore | 350 wine labels, 70 global winemakers and 7 Food Stations to watch out

What’s Buzzing? Wine alert! Wine Fiesta 2016 is back for the 9th year, from 20 to 23 October 2016 at Clifford Square (beside The Fullerton Bay Hotel), presented by The Straits Wine Company. There will be over 350 wine labels, and 70 global winemakers who will be present to share their wine knowledge.  This year’s theme is “Rising Roots x Celebrate Local Chefs and Produce”.

Other than the insane wine sampling at one venue, there will also free Wine Masterclasses (on a first-come-first-served basis) where you can learn more about wines, or you can opt to top it up for the Winemaker’s Table Night (S$228++ per person). The Winemaker’s Table Night will offer diners the opportunity to sample 75 iconic wines and vintages with the respective winemakers playing hosts at their tables. This will be complemented by dinner prepared by the participating chefs and The Fullerton Bay Hotel.

The Food Apart from getting all wine-y, the food segment is always one part we watch out for. Seven renowned chefs based in Singapore, Andrew Baldus from Meat Smith, Dave Pynt from Burnt Ends, Michael Lewis from Tin Hill Social, Petrina Loh from Morsels, Rishi Naleendra from Cheek by Jowl, Ah Boy from Good Chance Popiah and Wanthana Nikonsaen from Tamarind Hill will each be presenting three original dishes specially created with locally-sourced ingredients for this event.

Guests may purchase the dishes at the event and these include highlights such as Pac Man Bun with Confit Duck Leg (Chef Rishi), Tart of Locally Farmed Crocodile Pastrami & Fresh Goats Cheese (Chef Michael), Grilled Iberico Pork Jowl (Chef Petrina), Salted Egg Crab Meat Popiah (Chef Ah Boy) and Massaman Beef Curry served with Rice Berry (Chef Wanthana).
