Food Scoops: Best Crab Specialty Restaurants To Check Out In Shanghai, China
Shanghai, China -Crab roe dishes are definitely one of the specialties in Shanghai, and here are some crab specialty restaurants worth checking out in this vibrant city in China.
Ren He Guan (Xuhui) (人和馆)
Their crab roe with rice is the best we had in Shanghai. Perfect proportion of golden yellow crab roe with rice, the overall texture is so smooth and delectable once it is mixed evenly. This outlet at Xu Hui district is also One Michelin starred and you get to soak in the old 1930s Shanghainese vibes.

Address: 407 Zhaojiabang Road, Xuhui, Shanghai, China Mainland
Old Jesse (老吉士)
A veteran name in the scene, we like this no-frills spot for their unique crab meat fried vermicelli (蟹粉炒粉皮). Good and balanced flavour of the crab roe and the 粉皮 soaks up the flavours so well that it doesn’t feel too heavy on the palate.

Address: 41 Tianping Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, China, 200001
Zhuangshi Longxing Xiaolongxia Noodle Restaurant (庄氏隆兴·蟹樽面道)
A crab roe specialty restaurant which does dishes like crab roe Xiao Long Bao and their famous crab roe with noodles. We love the noodles texture and while prices are on the higher end, you get copious portions of the hairy crab roe.

Address: 441 Zhejiang Road (M), Huangpu, Shanghai, China, 200001
Xie San Bao (蟹叁寳·蟹家宴·蟹黄捞饭)
A more casual option and much cheaper than Zhuangshi Longxing. We also had their crab roe Xiao Long Bao and noodles which are decent.
