Hotel Review: COMO Uma Canggu, Bali | Gorgeous One Bedroom Residence & COMO Beach Club

The Hotel It has been on my to stay list for the longest time and I finally managed to check out COMO Uma Canggu. With an ideal location along Bali’s vibrant Canggu coastline, this is one of the first few big names in Canggu with a laid-back surf culture and chic beach vibes.

The property enjoys a prime beachfront position, offering uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.

For those who love sunsets, the hotel’s vantage point is unbeatable.

From I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, it takes about 90-120 minutes to get here by private car depending on traffic conditions.

The lobby spots a minimalist white interior where the gift shop and spa are also located. As my room was not ready when I arrived at 1pm, I managed to check out COMO Beach Club while waiting for my room.

The building where the lobby is located is also where the main facilities like the spa and gym are at, while the rooms are located in separate buildings a short distance away.

The Rooms The rooms at COMO Uma Canggu exude understated luxury with a contemporary tropical aesthetic. Think clean lines, natural textures, and soothing neutral tones.

The 119 rooms and suites at COMO Uma Canggu look out over the lagoon pool or the coastline. There are also 12 three-bedroom duplex COMO Penthouse with rooftop pools and private butler services.

I checked into the One Bedroom Residence which is extremely spacious at 90sq m / 969sq ft with a Tropical Garden View. Upon entering the room, I am greeted by how long the walkway is.

Each of these residences has a living room, kitchenette and master bedroom, and right at the entrance is the kitchenette with a proper kitchen and ample countertop space.

The living room area is very cosy, with a large sofa to chill, and it overlooks the spacious balcony which has a view of the main swimming pool.

The only downside for me is that it is likely that you are also looking into another guest’s balcony, but that is not a big issue.

The beds are plush with a hard mattress, which I appreciate. There are also charging points on both sides of the bed.

Between the bedroom and bathroom is a long walkway where there is ample wardrobe storage, along with floor to ceiling mirror to check yourself out.

The bathroom is equally impressive, complete with double vanity sinks, a spacious bathtub, rain shower zone, and COMO’s signature amenities.

The Facilities COMO Uma Canggu is quite a lifestyle destination to say the least.

I spent most of my time here chilling at COMO Beach Club, which is right beside the beach with a 25 metres infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

I appreciate that there are ample beds to chill here, along with swing beds which add to the chill-lax vibes by the beach.

The main Swimming Pool is a long 115 metres lagoon pool where some rooms have direct pool access. While there is no beach view from the pool, it is a quieter place to swim as compared to the infinity pool at COMO Beach Club.

Wellness enthusiasts will appreciate COMO Shambhala Retreat, where I managed to try their signature COMO Shambhala Massage. I highly recommend a treatment here where the prices are very competitive, where the COMO Shambhala 75 minutes Massage is at IDR 1,000,000.

Of course, there is also a fully equipped Gym located at the lobby level for fitness enthusiasts. The gym is fairly big with a good range of cardio and resistance training equipment. There are also spacious yoga rooms.

The separate gender changing room also features a steam room.

The Restaurants The main restaurant in the resort is located at COMO Beach Club, and it serves up a menu that blends local flavors with international flair.

Breakfast is served at COMO Beach Club, and it features a buffet spread of pastries, fruits, salad, juices, complemented by an ala carte menu where you can choose your style of eggs and local cuisine like Nasi Goreng. The best seats are the outdoor ones closest to the beach!

Expect fresh seafood, vibrant salads, and wood-fired pizzas on the menu here. The atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish, making it ideal for long, lazy lunches or sunset dinners.

For health-conscious folks, there is also Glow Juice Bar which is a casual eatery focused COMO’s signature wellness dishes. This is a spot to mix and match your own salad bowl and grab a coffee or smoothie.

Rants As COMO Beach Club is right beside the public beach, there will be other tourists who will stroll along the beach if that is a big concern. I personally still find it acceptable.

Overall Experience I had a great stay at COMO Uma Canggu. It is a very relaxed stay, where the beachfront location plays a big part. I also love the minimalist aesthetic of the room, as well as the wellness facilities like the spa and gym. Whether you are looking to surf, unwind, or simply soak in the beauty of the ocean, this is one resort worth checking out in Canggu, Bali.
