Snippets: The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill | Brand new American brunch menu with a marina view [Closed]

What’s new? We tried the new weekend brunch menu at The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill recently, which is well-known for its fresh seafood and waterfront dining space. The all-new ala carte brunch menu has its focus on classic East Coast American breakfast favourites with a free flow Prosecco option.

The highlights Expect classic American breakfast options such as bagels, oyster platters and frittatas, with an option to top up an additional S$35++ for free flow of Prosecco to go with their meal.

For a start, the Old Fashioned Crab Cakes (S$24) here won’t go wrong. It was my second time having it as it still packed the generous crab fillings.

From the new Breakfast of Champs section on the menu, I tried The City’s Bagel & Eggs (S$28), featuring the famous NYC Bagel, spread with mentaiko cream cheese, sautéed spinach, house-smoked salmon, and topped with a poached egg. The mentaiko flavour could be more pronounced, while the bagel leaned towards the bland side for me.

Some classics will always be around, such as the signature Snapper Pie (S$40), easily one of my favourite item for brunch here. No doubt about the freshness of the fish, the flaky crust is done perfectly as well. I was taken by surprise at how huge the portion is, which I will recommend for sharing.

For something heavier, we tried the woodfire-grilled Ribeye Steak (S$45) and requested for medium-rare. It was a pity that our steak turned out too well-done and tough for our liking. This was also a little too heavy for me as brunch.

If you are a seafood person, the signature Pelican Platter (S$138) should not go wrong. This is good for sharing between three to four people, with a wide assortment of raw oysters & clams, steamed whole lobster, crab & prawns and mussels.

For desserts, there are options such as the Berry & Crème French Toast (S$14), Banana Bread (S$14) or simply ice-cream.
