Food Review: Tiong Bahru Yong Tao Hu At Eng Hoon Street | Serving Delicious Yong Tau Foo For Over 30 Years

The Place Opened since 1989, Tiong Bahru Yong Tao Hu along Eng Hoon Street is one popular food option in the buzzing estate of Tiong Bahru. Located at a corner coffee shop space, the family run Tiong Bahru Yong Tao Hu went through a renovation in recent years and it spots a brighter and a more welcoming look.

The Food Prices for the Yong Tao Hu here starts from S$5, where you can opt for either soup or dry version. There’s not much customisation per se as what I am used to at other Yong Tao Hu stalls. That said, you can apparently let the staff know if you would prefer all non-fried items (the likes of fishball, tau kwa) or fried items.

I had the soup version without bee hoon, mainly made up of fishball and tofu skin. The winning formula here is definitely the freshness of the ingredients, which are simple and common items at any Yong Tao Hu stall yet it taste pretty good here. I also enjoy the soup here, a clear broth which is not too sweet or salty.

Rants There is no option to customise your bowl fully here.

Will I Return Again? For a good bowl of Yong Tao Hu, this stall is a must try, despite the fact that there are so many other food options in Tiong Bahru.
