Food Review: Le Petit Paris At Swan Lake Avenue | Patisserie Cafe & A Slice Of Paris In Singapore
The Place I stay in the east but it is my first time to Swan Lake Avenue near Bedok MRT Station where Le Petit Paris is located, a two weeks old patisserie cafe by Chef Felicien Cueff. The relatively under-the-radar Le Petit Paris is located along the same stretch as Baker & Cook – Swan Lake, and it is a pretty quaint looking bright blue facade cafe along this road. There are outdoor tables facing the small road, just like the Parisian-style, challenged by the merciless heat of Singapore. Otherwise, the mild floral theme interior is probably your best bet for a more pleasant dining experience.

The Food For the small space, I am surprised by the rather extensive all-day menu where you can find the likes of Eggs Benedict and Escargot. Otherwise, if you are just in the mood for light bites, there are freshly baked French pastries, savoury or sweet ones, to choose from. French chef Felicien Cueff is a veteran chef trained in both cuisine and pastries with a culinary experience spanning across various establishments in Singapore and other countries like France, where his most recent experience was a private dining chef in Singapore. The pastries at Le Petit Paris are all freshly made in-house.

There are petit gâteaux on display, which means ‘little cakes’ in French; Plain Croissant (S$4.50), Almond Croissant (S$5.75), Elephant Ear (S$3.5) also known as palmier; and more. Coffee, tea and juices are also available.
Talking about familiar faces, look who I spotted here as well?

I only managed to try some pastries during my visit and I do like the Elephant Ear, which is a type of puff pastry. The taste is buttery with a crispy texture and bits of sugar on the crispy crust.

Rants The indoor seats are quite limited and the outdoor area is not that pleasant to dine in.
Will I Return Again? I am keen to try some of the dishes on the all-day menu at Le Petit Paris the next time round as it looks quite promising. Of course, for a boutique size patisserie cafe, the pastry selection is really quite decent and hopefully it will build its brand name over time in this neighbourhood.
