Shin Terroir
Located at a secret entrance on a side lane along Tras Street, I checked out the newly opened Shin Terroir, an intimate ten-seater Japanese omakase restaurant in Tanjong Pagar. Shin Terroir is not quite the typical omakase as it focuses on a grill concept, where the courses are mostly prepared over a custom-made three-tier grill from Osaka filled with hot Kishu bincho coals, made purely from Ubamegashi, a Japanese oak from Wakayama. Capasso
Located in Telok Ayer, the newly opened Capasso is an Italian restaurant and whisky lounge concept by Chef Fernando Arevalo (of Bacata) and a group of partners. It is an 80-seater sleek looking lounge and bar where the cuisine is contemporary Italian food with bold flavours and is inspired by memories of Chef Fernando’s grandfather. SuperNature and Glow
A new organic and natural products retail space in Dempsey, while SuperNature boasts a comprehensive range of certified organic and natural products, Glow is the dining arm of the same colonial building space which offers a wellness-centric menu embracing COMO Shambhala’s culinary philosophy. SuperNature joined COMO Group back in 2007. Dishes to expect at Glow include the likes of Mezze Platter, Quiche Florentine, Salmon Cake, Tuna Salad, Beef Noodle Soup, Crispy Porchetta, and more.

Kantin
A Borneo brand which hails from Sarawak located at Jewel Changi, Kantin serves Borneo inspired dishes in a casual setting where you can expect the likes of Rainforest Fried Rice, Jungle Omelette, Salmon Island and the renowned Sarawak Laksa. Kou Teppan
Located at Great World City, Kou Teppan specialises in Teppanyaki Omakase at an affordable price point where the dinner Hino Menu is priced at S$88++ while the lunch Enya Menu is priced at S$58++. The interior of Kou Teppan is spacious and there are two teppanyaki counter sections, along with a couple of non-counter tables. There are a few options to opt for mains, such as Japanese A5 Wagyu (80g), Slow Cooked Japanese Pork Houbayaki, Lobster & Japanese Oyster or Premium Japanese A5 Wagyu Sirloin / Tenderloin (90g). The Social Outcast
A newly opened speakeasy restaurant concept in the heart of Katong, The Social Outcast is helmed by Chef-Owner Mint and is an Omakase Experiential Dining concept and 100% Muslim-Owned. An an intimate setting with only 12 counter seats and a few small dining tables, a no menu style sets the tone at The Social Outcast, where you get a view of the chefs at work in the open kitchen. Buzzing Restaurants
New Menu At Modern European And Japanese Cuisine Restaurant Iru Den
Housed in a black and white colonial house on Scotts Road, Iru Den is a hidden restaurant helmed by Singaporean Chef/Owner Javier Low of Il Den, an intimate one man kitchen back in 2018 in Bugis Cube. The new menu at Iru Den is a multi-course tasting menu where the 5 Course Business Lunch is at S$88++ and 8 Course Tasting Menu at S$188++, while dinner starts from S$188++ for 6 Course and 9 Course at S$298++ per person. Xi Yan 18 @ Xi Yan Maxwell
Xi Yan is definitely not your usual Chinese restaurant and in case you have not heard of this brand, it has already been around in Singapore for 18 years. I recalled my meals at Xi Yan on various work and personal occasions, and glad that the restaurant has come up with special 18th anniversary set menus available at Xi Yan @ Maxwell from 3-31 October, priced from S$80++ per person. Some standout dishes to expect on the special set menus include the likes of Scallop Tofu Temptation, Tomato Sea cucumber Enoki Hot And Sour Soup, Lush Scallion Serenade With Succulent Pork Jowl, Steamed Pomfret In Homemade Salted Fish Paste, Pistachio Paste, and more.

New Omakase Menu By Michelin Starred Chef Taisei Iwao At Hanazen
A new menu at Hanazen and a brand-new culinary direction from Chef Taisei Iwao of 1 Michelin-starred Lumiere and chef-owner of Karato in Osaka, where the Japanese restaurant’s new focus is on an omakase experience with Japanese ingredients along with Japanese and French cooking techniques. The new dinner menu is available for 10-course menu at S$210++ or 9-course menu at S$180++. Standouts include the Uni Brioche, Abalone with Liver Sauce, Wagyu Beef and Beef Curry Rice.

New 15-Course Sushi Omakase Menu At Ganko Sushi
Located in Dhoby Ghaut at UBS Building, Ganko Sushi is a mid-range Japanese restaurant with a history of sixty years since its first outlet in Osaka. The new 15-course sushi omakase menu is priced at S$130 per person, where ingredients are imported three times a week from Osaka Fish Market.
