Hotel Review: Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong | Beautiful Harbourfront Hyatt Hotel On Hong Kong Island

The Hotel With breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour, I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong during my first post-covid trip to Hong Kong this year. The lifestyle hotel is located in North Point on Hong Kong Island, and it takes just a little over an hour if you were to take the train from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The Hyatt property is a mere 3 minutes walk once you exit North Point MTR Station exit. Alternatively, there is a bus interchange located just 3 minutes walk from the hotel where you can catch a direct bus A11 to and fro from HKIA, at just HKD40.

Location wise, I find the hotel’s location pretty good, away from the hustle and bustle districts like Central and Causeway Bay. In any case, Central is a mere 6 stops or 12 minutes away by MTR. The other good aspect is that right in front of the hotel is the ferry terminal where you can catch a ferry to the opposite Kowloon side which takes less than 10 minutes. There is also a shopping mall right beside the hotel, Harbour North Shopping Mall.

It is a fairly huge property with 665 rooms and suites with an east and west tower, where the check-in lobby is located on the east tower. I arrived very early in the morning before 8am and was surprised that my room is already ready despite being an ordinary World Of Hyatt member.

A long corridor on the lobby level with a poster of what to explore around North Point connects the east and west towers.

The Room I checked into the 2 Twin Beds room which is quite spacious at 246 square feet given that it is the basic category. The best part of the room for me is the couch which overlooks the harbour.

There is a spacious work desk by the window, which makes it quite ideal if you need to catch up on some work. I also appreciate that the window blinds system is auto.

The rest of the room features are quite standard – walk-in shower for the bathroom, coffee machine, and bathrobes.

The bed itself is quite comfortable where the mattress is fairly hard to my liking.

The Facilities My favourite part of the hotel is the 25-metre outdoor rooftop infinity pool located on level 23 of East Tower. There are limited sun deck chairs and the pool could get quite packed especially during late afternoon. There is also a small jacuzzi to soak in the harbour views.

On the same level as the pool is a decently size fitness centre which also boasts a harbour view. A fairly good mix of cardio and weights equipment here.

There is also a spacious changing room on the same level which is equipped with lockers, sauna and steam room.

I did not manage to try any dining concepts during my stay since I did not opt for breakfast. The Farmhouse is a buffet restaurant, also the space where breakfast is held. Cruise is the rooftop restaurant and bar with an outdoor oasis, a terrace overlooking Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, serving modern Asian food. The Farmhouse Deli is a casual cafe which serves sweet and savoury items like freshly baked pastries, cakes, and sandwiches.

Rants The pool area is not that huge, and it could get busy especially in the evenings.

Overall Experience I had a pleasant stay at this Hyatt Centric property and the room rate is very reasonable by Hong Kong standards. If you are looking for a conveniently located hotel on Hong Kong Island in a less busy district, this is one Hyatt property to consider.
