Food Review: Mosella At Pan Pacific Orchard | Weekend Mediterranean-Style Brunch Buffet With Live Jazz Music

The Place Located in Pan Pacific Orchard, I visited Mosella restaurant recently for its newly launched weekend Saturday Brunch. Mosella is located on the lobby level of the hotel where the property opened officially last year after a major revamp. 

The interior of Mosella is spacious and contemporary where you get a mix of indoor and outdoor seating with a high ceiling setting. 

The Food The new Saturday Brunch buffet features an array of signature appetisers, fresh pasta, and Mediterranean-inspired main courses prepared on the Josper grill.

Available on Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm (and on Sundays from 1 July 2024 onwards), it is priced at S$108++ per adult and S$54+ per child aged 8 to 12 years old, inclusive of soft drinks, coffee and tea, with a free-flow Champagne package available at S$98++ per adult featuring Aubert & Fils Champagne, Rosé Prosecco, red and white wines, as well as a brunch selection of cocktails including Bloody Mary, Passionfruit Martini and more. 

One unique factor is that there is also live jazz music. 

For a start, there is a selection of freshly prepared signature appetisers served tableside. Highlights include the Amelie Fine de Claire Oysters N3 adorned with bloody Mary foam and wafu sauce, 48-month Aged Iberico Ham served atop Spanish crystal bread and tomatoes, as well as the Hamachi Tiradito where the Japanese yellowtail is lightly flavoured with mandarin ponzu, truffle and garlic chips. 

It is an open kitchen concept, and the food stations are all around the open kitchen. Starters include the likes of a selection of salads and cold cuts like Truffle Mortadella and Beef Bresaola. My top picks are the freshly baked breads and the beetroot-cured smoked salmon! 

Moving to mains, it is a meat galore. Mains fired from the Josper grill include signatures like the Cochinillo, a crisp-skinned Spanish suckling pig accompanied by roasted apple purée, and the New Zealand Lamb Chops. 

There is also a live pasta station and a carving station where you can get your hands on dishes like the Salmon Wellington and Australian Wagyu Tomahawk. 

Other brunch highlights from the live station include the Eggs Benedict with Atlantic lobster and Pan Seared Foie Gras.  

The dessert spread is quite varied too where you get expect a series of artisanal cakes, chocolates and artisan cheeses. 

Rants There is no sashimi counter, or a big seafood spread for the Saturday brunch buffet. 

Will I Return Again? Overall, the quality of the Saturday brunch buffet at Mosella is good and it will suit the palate of meat and Mediterranean food lovers. The setting of Mosella is quite nice during the day as well along with the live jazz music.
