Food Review: Sushisamba Singapore At Capital Tower | Gorgeous Multi-Concept Panoramic Dining View In Singapore

The Place Situated in the heart of Singapore’s business district, Sushisamba Singapore is located at level 52 of Capital Tower in Tanjong Pagar and is currently the only Asia outpost of the famous brand where the brand also has presence in cities like London, Dubai and Las Vegas. The interior of Sushisamba is quite like a tropical garden for me, complemented by a 360 degrees panoramic views of Singapore with its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows.

It is a contemporary and stylish design with sleek lines, warm lighting, and pops of tropical colors which create a cool, upscale atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and energetic.

The large windows allow natural light to stream in during the day.

In addition to the main dining room, there is also a bar area, a mezzanine level which is the space of Samba Bar which serves exclusive cocktails, along with three private dining rooms.

The Food Sushisamba is known for its unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavours, and the Capital Tower location is no exception. The menu offers a dynamic range of dishes, from fresh sushi rolls to robata grill specialties. For beverages, there is an interesting cocktail menu or you can just opt for wine with recommendations from the in-house sommelier.

I visited for lunch and my meal started with the Hamachi Tiradito (S$42), akin to sliced sashimi with truffle soy, caviar and some seasonal black truffle. This is refreshing and easy to relate to since I love sashimi.

The Crispy Taquito is something I recommend to go for because what is not to love about crispy rolls? I had two flavours – the Pork smoked aji panca bbq, garlic, pickled cabbage, yukari, aji amarillo (S$22) and the Lobster Japanese tartar, yuzu gel, coriander, avocado (S$38). Each comes with two rolls, and it spot a nice crispy texture which holds the fillings of the ingredients very well.

Can’t do without Guacamole (S$22) for a Latin American concept and this is served in a stone pot where the staff mix it all up at your table. It is a delicious mix of avocado, aji amarillo, onion, and served with crispy plantain chips by the side.

This is one of the better Guacamole I have had.

For ceviche lovers, the Samba Seviche (S$109) is a fancy selection of Samba signature seviches.

You get five different types of ceviches here served in a beautiful platter presentation – Sea Bream with truffle leche de tigre marinade, sweet potato, and red onion; Salmon with aji amarillo peppers and passionfruit; Sea bream with green chilli, coriander, crunchy cancha corn, and panca chilli pepper oil; Sea bass with leche de tigre, corn, red onion, and sweet potato; Seasonal Mushroom Seviche with miso-marinated mushroom, truffle & black bean leche de tigre.

You don’t have to go for this fancy platter, and you can order each individually.

From the Robata section where dishes are prepared over Japanese charcoal grill and josper oven, I had the Chilean Sea Bass Anticuchos (S$39) which is essentially meat skewers. You get white miso chives marinated with white miso, skewered, grilled, and topped with chives. Delicious and fatty flavours of the fish here!

For the Samba Roll, I had the Singapore exclusive Samba Singapore (S$38), a sushi platter of maine lobster, mango, avocado, soy paper and aji honey truffle.

Rants As expected for a fusion restaurant in Singapore’s Central Business District, Sushisamba at Capital Tower is on the pricier side.

Will I Return Again? Head here for the awesome views obviously. It is and innovative fusion cuisine which blends the best of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavors. The dining ambience is polished yet inviting, making it a great spot for both business meetings and celebratory meals.
