Food Review: Cygnet At QT Singapore | Chic Bar & Grill Restaurant In The CBD By Chef Sean Connolly
The Place Located in the newly opened QT Singapore in the heart of CBD, Cygnet is a new bar and grill restaurant by award-winning Chef, Sean Connolly. The space of Cygnet exudes chic New York steakhouse vibes where its spacious interior is elegant with different table sizes to fit a good range of diners.

The dining ambience is dim in the evening, and you can catch the chef’s action in the open kitchen.

The Food I visited Cygnet for dinner and the menu is split into a series of appetisers, mains, steaks, sides and desserts. The wine list is comprehensive with an in-house sommelier, and you can also expect a robust New York inspired cocktail menu.
For a start, I had the freshly shucked Ocean Shelf Oysters Mixed ½ Dozen, Mignonette, Lemon (S$54).

The Devilled Egg (S$12 each) is cutely presented in a swan feet egg cup, while the Baked Scallop, Pistachio Pesto (S$17 each) is an indulgent serving of fresh scallop to whet my appetite before the meats.

I love the delicious Table Side Steak Tartare (S$34) which is mixed with an array of condiments and served with crispy bread and cabbage.

For mains, the Steak Frites (S$42) features Portoro, NSW, grain fed minute steak served with shoestring fries. I estimate it to be about 200g and suffice to say the steak is succulent despite being slightly overcooked for me.

From the steak library section of the menu which features different cuts of the beef for individual or sharing portions, I opted for the OP Rib (S$112) – Little Joe, AU, Angus, MBS4, grass fed, 600gm – a beautiful medium-rare steak fit to share for 2-3 diners.

The beef is flavourful though I do not mind if it is less fatty. Each steak is also served with your choice of sauce such as red wine jus or peppercorn sauce.

Sides to go with my meats include the Charred Sprouting Broccolini (S$14) and the must try Honeycomb Mac And Cheese (S$14) which is oozing with cheese.

For desserts, I went for the Chocolate Orange Tart, Chantilly Cream (S$18) which is quite rich and intense.

The Warm Madeleines (S$12) are piping hot and freshly baked with a nice buttery aroma.

Rants Prices are on the higher spectrum at Cygnet.
Will I Return Again? This is a sleek steakhouse in the heart of the CBD in Singapore. I can imagine Cygnet as a dining destination to impress your date, or a venue for a small cosy group meal. It would definitely be better if the prices for the dishes are priced more competitively.
