Hotel Review: Hilton Petaling Jaya King Executive Room | Good Value Hilton Property Near Kuala Lumpur
The Hotel I recently stayed at the Hilton Petaling Jaya instead of Hilton Kuala Lumpur at KL Sentral which I stayed at last year as I wanted to explore the Petaling Jaya (PJ) area. Hilton Petaling Jaya is located just outside Kuala Lumpur, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travelers. Situated along Jalan Barat, it offers easy access to major highways, such as the Federal Highway, which connects directly to the city center.

Notable nearby attractions from the hotel include the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and the Subang Parade. Additionally, the hotel is just a short drive from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, if you want to explore iconic landmarks like the Petronas Towers and Bukit Bintang with ease.

Most of the hotel’s interior went through a revamp which is great since the building is quite old, and I am happy to report that it does feel good walking into a renovated hotel lobby. The staff were warm and welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and efficient.
I arrived past noon and managed to check in immediately, with a few categories upgrade as a Hilton Honors Gold Member where I was assigned a King Executive Room even though I only booked the most entry level room.

The Room I love the King Executive Room I checked into. It is spacious and new at 27 sq. m./290 sq. ft., featuring modern decor and a comfortable king-size bed. My room was at level 19 (level 21 being the highest) and the view from the window overlooks the city skyline.

There is a spacious work desk which is great for catching up for some work, a coffee table and sofa by the window as well as ample wardrobe space.

Other notable features include a coffee maker, a well-stocked minibar, and high-speed internet access.

The bathroom is huge and comes with a standing shower zone and bathtub. It also overlooks the room should you not want to keep the blinds down.

The Crabtree and Evelyn bath amenities smell good too.

The Facilities My Executive Room comes with Executive Lounge access where complimentary breakfast and all-day refreshments are served.

The lounge spots a beautiful and contemporary interior and is quite well-designed with different pockets of privacy.

Evening cocktails, wines and canapés are also served from 6pm to 8pm.

I had breakfast at the lounge, and I must say the spread is decent, while not as widespread a variety as the dishes served at Paya Serai restaurant.

You still get your egg station, local delights like Nasi Lemak, fruits, pastries and more. The most appealing part of having my breakfast in the lounge is the peacefulness since it is much quieter than the main restaurant.

There is also an outdoor Pool at level 2 though the pool area is not big, and there is not much of a view either.

The most impressive facility for me is the Gym, one of the largest hotel gyms I have come across. It is a very new gym and well-equipped gym, with different zones for cardio and resistance training.

The changing rooms also come with sauna and steam room.
The Restaurants The breakfast buffet takes place at Paya Serai restaurant which offers a wide array of options, from local Malaysian dishes to international favorites.

You can make your own Nasi Lemak amongst other local delights.

Of course, there is an egg station and selection of pastries. International cuisine is served in the evening as a dinner buffet format.

Other dining concepts include Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant, Genji Japanese Restaurant and Drip, a casual café at the lobby.

Rants My only gripe is the outdoor pool which lacks privacy and a view.
Overall Experience My stay at the Hilton Petaling Jaya was fantastic. The combination of good service, comfortable accommodations, and generally good facilities made for a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Petaling Jaya area, whether for business or leisure. I am already looking forward to my next stay!
