Kaya At The Standard
The Standard, Singapore is one of the most anticipated new hotel openings this year and with its opening this month comes the debut of Kaya at The Standard, the signature restaurant at the World Of Hyatt property. Kaya is a contemporary Japanese izakaya concept and its name is a play on izakaya, as well as a play on ‘kaya’ in Singaporean term which refers to a custard spread for bread. The interior of Kaya is gorgeous and takes on a botanical and floral theme, where the ala carte main is inspired by bold Japanese-inspired flavors alongside playful dish names, sharing plates and cocktails crafted at KayaBar. Lo Hey HK Seafood
Inspired by the golden age of Hong Kong cinema between the 1980s and 1990s, Lo Hey HK Seafood is a new Chinese restaurant at the buzzing One Holland Village by the same team behind Hey Kee. Located on level three of the mall, the Hong Kong theme is strong at Lo Hey where you can expect neon lights, jade tiles and live seafood in tanks, and it blends with the essence of the old Hong Kong scenes with a cinematic flair. One Prawn & Co
A modern Asian seafood concept by Chef Gwyneth, who is also behind the Michelin Bib Gourmand Zhup Zhup in MacPherson. Chef Gwyneth used to hold stints in Burnt Ends and Forlino, where she has a passion for woodfired dishes and in particular, seafood. The cuisine – Seafood, Woodfire & Dry-ageing. These are the elements that define One Prawn & Co’s menu where Chef Gwyneth fuses Eastern cuisines with Western cooking techniques. Founded in 2008, Siong Tong Gai (which translates to 上汤街 in Chinese) is a seafood institution with 11 outlets across Malaysia where its first outlet in Singapore opened at 313@somerset. The brand is known for its fresh fish and seafood, where it also showcases eight of its top KL zichar crab flavours such as Signature Spicy Sauce Crab, ‘Kum Hiong’ Style Stir Fried Crab and Salted Egg Yolk Crab. Shisen Hanten By Chen Kentaro Reopened With Revamped Menu & Interior
After a hiatus of five months, the reopened Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro spots a new space and menu. The redesigned main dining hall features a striking large hanging artwork, where the dining ambience is elegant and more refined than before. For a private dining experience, there is a new Chef’s Table which seats eight and offers a close-up, exclusive opportunity to interact directly with the chefs. The spotlight at Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro is on Chūka Szechwan Ryori, a form of Szechwan cuisine adapted to Japanese tastes. The Wagyu Beef Tendon Chen’s Mapo Tofu is delicious. Quenino By Victor Liong Unveils A New Tasting Menu
Guided by the culinary expertise of Chef Victor Liong, renowned for Melbourne’s acclaimed Lee Ho Fook, and helmed by Chef de Cuisine Sujatha Asokan, the new menu introduces lesser-known ingredients, such as Buah Kulim (jungle garlic with an earthy, truffle-like aroma) and Malaysian caviar, to highlight Southeast Asia’s culinary heritage. Available for lunch and dinner, the menu starts at S$98 per person for a four-course lunch and S$180 per person for a six-course dinner. Highlights of the menu include the likes of T’lur Oscietra Caviar farmed in Malaysia, Stone Axe M9 Wagyu with Old and New World Peppercorns and Quenino’s Fried Rice which draws inspiration from Southeast Asian classics such as fried rice, nasi ulam, and “mui fan” (rice with gravy).

Ooomahmee Take Centre Stage At Chef X
Chef X, the 24-seater commercial F&B space in Clarke Quay Central introduces ooomahmee (@ooomahmee) as the next culinary residency. From 16 December to 10 February 2024, Chef Benjamin (Ben) Lai showcases classic Japanese flavours highlighting premium ingredients. A signature dish, the ooomahmee (S$27) brings umami with its al dente capellini tossed in truffle oil and topped with thinly sliced fresh scallops and ikura. Other an ala carte dishes, there are also a couple of private dining set menus.

New Weekend Lunch Menu At Cote Korean Steakhouse
Cote is finally opened for lunch! Happening on weekends only, lunch at Cote includes a list of lunch-only menu items, like the punchy Korean Crudo “Salad” in Hwe Dup Bap style and a fresh yet hearty Sanche Bibimbap, chock-full of mountain vegetables. There is also a brand-new Singapore-exclusive dishes such as Steak Dupbap, an Australian Wagyu beef bowl topped with cured egg yolk and Galbitang with beef short rib.

Guerilla Coffee Opens New Flagship Outlet At Kallang Riverside
The new flagship space features an on-site roastery, along with a ‘slow’ coffee bar offering a carefully curated selection of coffees, including rare auction batches from the world’s finest coffee estates, as well as dishes with some coffee-infused highlights. The location of the cafe is surrounded by greenery and close to the Kallang Park connector, with both indoor and pet-friendly alfresco seating.
