Food Scoops: Wakuda Singapore At Marina Bay Sands Launches New Weekend Brunch Menu
What’s Buzzing? If you love a good weekend brunch in a nice restaurant setting, then Wakuda’s new weekend brunch menu should be of interest. Located in Marina Bay Sands, the contemporary Japanese restaurant just launched their new 3-course weekend brunch menu.

I previously visited Wakuda for dinner and it was my first time seeing the space in the day, which is gorgeous especially with the backdrop of the trees against the open kitchen.

What To Expect? Priced at S$88++ per person, the weekend brunch menu starts with iconic dishes like Wakuda’s Flan and a Mix Salad with soy honey vinaigrette and red onion.

I love that Flan which is essentially Savoury Egg Custard with Avruga Caviar.

The next part of the menu features a Sushi Platter which showcases seasonal fresh ingredients. What I really like about the sushi is the rice which has that nice balance of vinegar and good texture to hold the ingredients well.

For my visit, I had flavours like Ika (squid) and spicy Tuna which are delicious.

The next act is the main course where you get to choose one from the options of signatures from the likes of Kurobuta Pork Cutlet Katsu, Miso Cod, Grilled Ora King Salmon, Unagi, Wagyu Beef Tenderloin, and more.
I went for the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin which is not too fatty and comes with a good portion along with some greens. Alternatively, I also recommend the Miso Cod where the texture and flavour is much better for me as compared to the beef.

Each main course is also served with a bowl of rice and miso soup.
Dessert is chef’s selection and I had was a delectable Basque Cheesecake paired with Genmaicha ice cream.

To elevate the brunch, there are also a few free-flow beverage packages (from S$48) to choose from where you can enjoy a curated selection of sake, Asahi beer, and house wines, or add on a little more to include glasses of Champagne Duval Leroy Brut NV and handcrafted international cocktails.

Non-alcoholic options feature refreshing iced teas and freshly squeezed juices with flavours like yuzu and musk melon. The highlight of the non-alcoholic package for me has to be the Copenhagen Sparkling Tea “Lysegron”, one of my favourite sparkling tea brands.

Overall Experience While S$88++ per person is not exactly cheap for a brunch, the beautiful ambience of Wakuda, attentive service and an overall good quality of food makes up for it. This is one spot to head to for a date, or a nice catch up with good friends who enjoy Japanese food.
