The Place Nestled in the heart of Siglap, The Winery Gourmet Bar is a cosy yet sophisticated dining restaurant right beside Burma Social. The space consists of outdoor and indoor seats where the indoor interior is inspired by Europe’s historic castles from the stone walls, warm lighting, and wooden accents.

At the centrestage of its space is the walk-in wine cellar which features over 150 wine labels from S$65 

The Food The cuisine here is Modern European cuisine alongside a variety of wine options. There are various daily promotions and in particular, I thought that the Wine Buffet Mondays is quite a good value one to check out – Two-hour free flow of select sparkling, white, and red wines at S$38 per person. 

For starters, I had their Signature Gambas al Ajilo (S$28), a classic taste of Spain featuring whole shelled prawns grilled in garlic chilli oil and served with garlic chips and homemade bread. 

The Seasonal Burrata Salad ($26) is a refreshing dish where a whole burrata from Italy is dressed with kale pesto and texturised with pumpkin seeds for crunch, topped with fig for a tinge of sweetness. 

The Handmade Mushroom Consommé Soup (S$18) is served in a refined presentation where the light broth is poured over the Greenlip abalone, zucchini, shimeji mushrooms, daikon and ginger. 

For mains, I had the 24-Hour Slow Cooked Short Ribs (S$48) where the tender beef comes with celeriac purée, onion jam, bone marrow, crispy sago chips and beef jus. The portion is quite decent and is good to share for 2 pax if you are looking for variety. 

Alternatively, the Iberico Pork Chop (S$42) with banana shallots sweet pepper relish, piquillo ketchup and curry leaves is a good complement to the short ribs as the tender pork chop is already sliced into bite size portions. 

Rants The prices for the main courses are on the higher end for a neighborhood location, with the cheapest being the pasta at S$30.

Will I Return Again? In terms of dining in the east, The Winery Gourmet Bar in Siglap is a good casual spot to enjoy some casual dishes over affordable wines in a relaxed dining ambience.
