Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore | Award Winning Hotel Design With Resort Inspired Pool

The Hotel I recently booked a spontaneous stay at the Pan Pacific Orchard as cash rates were low, finally ticking off a hotel list in Singapore for me. Nestled in the heart of Singapore’s iconic Orchard Road yet away from the main hustle and bustle, Pan Pacific Orchard is an award-winning hotel designed by Woha Architects, a well-known Singapore-based architectural firm which is also behind Parkroyal Collection Pickering. The hotel is still very new, as it only opened in mid-2023.

Woha is known for blending modern architecture with green building practices, and their work on Pan Pacific Orchard is no exception. The design focuses on integrating the building with the surrounding urban environment while maintaining a high level of luxury and functionality.

There are also elements of sustainability, with thoughtful attention to natural light, ventilation, and green spaces, along with four themed terraces – Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud terraces.

The check-in was smooth and efficient at the beautiful open air lobby area, and I managed to get a room upgrade by virtue of my GHA Discovery Titanium. That said, the staff did not explain the full benefits of Titanium member to me, such as the complimentary breakfast I was entitled to. Welcome amenity was also left out.

The Room I checked into the Premier Balcony King which at 30sqm, is relatively spacious. It is a contemporary design with a high ceiling which makes the room more spacious as well.

The king-sized bed comes with charging points on both sides of the bed.

I seldom think city hotel balconies are a key feature, but this happens to be a key highlight for me. The balcony is spacious and comes with sofa, ottoman and coffee table.

The best part of my room on level 10 is that I get a gorgeous view of the swimming pool.

For the bathroom, it is equipped with a rainforest shower, and separate door for the toilet bowl. Unfortunately, there is no bidet.

Other notable room features include a Nespresso machine, complimentary bottled water, and Swisspro hot and ambient water filtration dispenser.

It was a pity there is no Bluetooth speaker in the room for a new property.

The Facilities The hotel offers a range of facilities, including a well-equipped gym, spa, a beautiful outdoor pool, and a chic bar/lounge area. I managed to check out the gym which overlooks the pool.

My favourite part of the hotel is the pool which is the best spot to soak in the design of the building. I like that the pool area has different segments such as the beach inspired area and a full-length lap area for more serious swimming.

There are also parts of the pool which is sheltered, and parts of it where you can potentially get a tan.

The only gripe is that it does get busy and there might be insufficient day beds.

If you book a room with Pacific Club Lounge access, it is located on level 11.

The Restaurants The daily buffet breakfast happens in Mosella, a Mediterranean restaurant. In terms of the buffet spread, expect a range of pastries, egg station, local delights, salad, and more.

The space of Mosella is airy and boosts a high ceiling, so it does feel quite like a resort hotel’s breakfast area.

Nestled within the hotel’s Garden Terrace, Florette is another dining concept in the property. As one of Orchard Road’s most unique bars, the space is elegantly designed to reflect the essence of its namesake, the Roman goddess of flowers.

The other concept at the lobby is Pacific Breeze, which has intimate lounge seating spaces perched above the waters within the Forest Terrace. This is an all-day dining concept with a selection of local heritage dishes, light bites and refreshments including wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverage.

Rants The water pressure of the shower is quite weak.

Overall Experience I had a good stay at Pan Pacific Orchard. The location is great for tourists who wants the convenience of Orchard Road but doesn’t want to be in the heart of the action and crowd. The greenery and garden city design is another plus for me, as well as the pool which is an oasis in itself.
