Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa
Located at Shaw Centre, I tried the newly opened Michelin Selected Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa from Nagoya which just made its debut in Singapore. With roots tracing back to Nakasho Shoten, a heritage family business and renowned unagi wholesaler since 1932, the brand brings over 90 years of expertise. The restaurant uses live unagi, where it is seared over binchotan charcoal a la minute. After grilling, the unagi is immediately immersed in the house tare sauce, a closely guarded recipe honed over generations. [Read more here for our full review]

Say hello to Sapoto – the newest yakitori omakase spot in Tanjong Pagar. The Japanese restaurant located at level two of Amara Hotel in Tanjong Pagar is helmed by the former head chef of the popular Shirokane Tori-Tama, and is by the same team behind Sushi Yujo and Shinrai. Sapoto offers good value menus, with lunch omakase starting from just S$48 and dinner from S$98. The menu is goes by omakase set menus where you can expect dishes like chutoro carpaccio, uni truffle brioche, truffle chawanmushi, and more. Belimbing
From the team behind The Coconut Club comes Belimbing, a New-Gen Singaporean restaurant led by Magic Square and Naked Finn alum, Marcus Leow. The name of the restaurant Belimbing takes reference from an often overlooked indigenous fruit – a metaphor for the hidden potential of Singaporean cuisine. Belimbing offers a 4-course menu (S$88) for dinner, a 2-course menu (S$58) for lunch and limited à la carte selection offered exclusively at lunch. The menu is designed for sharing, where you can expect local cuisine reimagines in a modern context. [Read more here for our full review]

Jeonpo Meat Shop
Located along the intersection of McCallum Street and Telok Ayer Street is the newly opened Jeonpo Meat Shop, a Korean BBQ restaurant by the same team behind Seoul Noodle Shop and Tonshou. The name Jeonpo is inspired by Jeonpo Cafe Street, a vibrant and popular destination located in the Seomyeon area of Busan, South Korea. La Terrace
Tucked just behind French neo-brasserie Claudine, there is a new dining concept by Chef Julien Royer and The Lo & Behold Group. Meet La Terrace, a new casual concept located at the backyard of Claudine. I honestly would not mind if my backyard looks like this as the setting feels like I am in the countryside of France. The menu is a concise selection of cold and hot plates, along with a main course, and desserts. The menu extends Claudine’s approachable French fare, featuring shareable plates alongside a laid-back drinks programme focused on curated gins. [Read more here for our full review]

Tempura Ensei
Another new dining spot in Palais Renaissance other than Mare Hachikyo Singapore which I visited recently. Meet Tempura Ensei, a new Edo-style tempura restaurant located at the basement of the mall. It is a minimalist and intimate counter seating with an open kitchen centred around the cooking pot where you can watch each tempura being prepared and fried. The restaurant’s unique tempura technique begins with a thin batter made from premium cold-stored Tomizawa Super Violet flour, chilled water, and eggs. Station by Kotuwa
Opened just last month at 21 Boon Tat Street, Station by Kotuwa is a dynamic offshoot of Sri Lankan restaurant Kotuwa, paying homage to Chef Rishi Naleendra’s heritage. While still celebrating Sri Lankan flavors, Station distinguishes itself with new, exclusive offerings tailored specifically to this venue, with a distinct menu, atmosphere, and vibe. The a la carte menu allows flexibility where you can build your meals from the selection of snacks (from S$7), starters (from S$14), mains (from S$22), sides and condiments (from S$4), as well as desserts (from $12). The Michelin Guide restaurant along Stevens Road launched their new Spring Menu and it is excellent. The meal started with a Hassun of Maguro, Amaebi and Wagyu; before proceeding to a Lobster course and a Cherry Blossom Trout. The main course which features Wagyu beef from Kagoshima is a tender and flavourful profile, followed by a delicious Donabe.
