Hotel Review: Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands | The Most Beautiful Hilton Garden Inn In The World?

The Hotel When I was planning for my trip to the Faroe Islands this year, I had already set sights on staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands as it is one of the few major hotel chains in this part of the world. Located in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, my first impression of the hotel is that this is not a typical Hilton Garden Inn property as it looks very polished.

There are a total of 130 rooms, and my check-in process was smooth and efficient.

I like how open the lobby area is, as it spans across the ground level and level one with a stairway. It is brightly lit and ample natural light in the day, which makes it very inviting.

If you drive, parking on-site is complimentary. The hotel does not arrange for airport transfers.

The Room I checked into the Queen Room with a view, which is quite spacious even though it is just 24 sq. m. /258 sq. ft.

I like the contemporary design of the room and it does come with a panoramic view and partial sea view. Note that the rooms on the other side of the building faces the main road which is less scenic for sure.

The bed is comfortable and it features Suite Dreams® by Serta bed.

For those who need to work, the work desk is big enough and it also comes with an ergonomic chair. Other notable features include 55-inch LCD TV, sofa bed, mini-fridge and flask.

The bathroom layout is also ideal which comes with separate cubicles for the toilet and standing shower zones, which is an ideal design if the room is not big to begin with. Bathroom amenities are by Crabtree & Evelyn, where there is also well-stocked body lotion.

The Facilities For a Hilton Garden Inn, the facilities are excellent.

The fitness center is well-equipped, and I like that it looks out to the natural beauty and landscape of the island. There is a cable machine and free weights of varying sizes which allow me to maintain my usual resistance training.

Perhaps a less obvious facility is that there is also an outdoor hot tub to soak in a jacuzzi as well as a sauna located on level two. This needs to be pre-booked at the reception, and I understood from the staff that each guest will be entitled to one complimentary use per stay.

I love the hot tub as the weather was perfect in May. The sauna is also quite spacious.

For those who needs to do laundry, there is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. It is free to use and there is also free detergent.

While there is no club lounge, Hilton Diamond holders can redeem a glass of house pour wines or beer at the on-site restaurant Hallartún on ground level from 5pm to 6pm.

The Restaurants There is only one on-site restaurant, Hallartún, which serves dishes made from local produce and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Hilton Gold and Diamond holders can enjoy complimentary breakfast at Hallartún, which is great if you are in Faroe Islands as dining out can be quite expensive. The breakfast spread is good enough for me, as there is a live egg station, freshly made pastries like croissants, Faroese smoked salmon, wide variety of fruits, and more.

Rants There is no swimming pool in this property. The curtains in the room is also not ideal as there are gaps at the sides and it is not a complete blackout.

Overall Experience My stay at Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands was fantastic. I love the contemporary design, good location in Tórshavn, and well-appointed room and facilities, given that this is just a Hilton Garden Inn branding. I highly recommend Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands for anyone planning a trip to the Faroe Islands. It is a wonderful place to stay and experience the natural beauty and tranquility of this unique destination.
