Hotel Review: Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road, King Standard Balcony Room | Is This IHG Property Worth Staying?
The Hotel Located in Ploen Chit, I stayed at the Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road this year for one night before checking into the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok as I had some IHG points to redeem. The IHG property is located about 5-7 minutes’ walk from Ploen Chit BTS Station and it is a four-star boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok’s business and embassy district. While it is not directly beside the BTS, the location is still quite prime as it is very close to the BTS Skytrain, shopping malls like Central Embassy and Central World.

The hotel’s design is inspired by the area’s history as the birthplace of Thailand’s first radio stations, blending vintage charm with modern flair through quirky art installations and retro furnishings, which is quite evident as I entered the lobby.

The Room The rooms at Hotel Indigo are spacious and thoughtfully designed, combining modern comforts with vintage aesthetics. I checked into the King Standard Balcony which is a spacious size at 35sqm. I must say I am not a fan of the mattress which is too soft for me.

Each room features floor-to-ceiling windows offering city views, along with plush bedding, a well-stocked minibar, and coffee/tea-making facilities. The décor includes bold colors, local artwork, and unique touches like old-school radios, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere.

There is ample natural light in the day in the bedroom, and it is also great that the blinds are mostly automated. A spacious work desk by the window is also ideal if you need to catch up on some work.

The bathroom comes with bathtub and standing shower zone, though it does show some signs of aging. The only good thing is that the blinks in the bathroom are also automated.

The toilet bowl is separately located on the other side of the room beside the walk-in closet area.

The Facilities The highlight for me is the rooftop infinity pool on the 24th floor, offering a good view of Bangkok’s skyline.

Adjacent to the pool is a small fitness center which has basic equipment, and the savin grace is the ample natural light in the day which makes working work more pleasant. Unfortunately, there is no spa in this property.

The Restaurants Hotel Indigo’s main restaurant is Metro on Wireless where breakfast buffet is also served here. It serves a menu inspired by Thai street food with modern presentation.

CHAR Rooftop Bar is located on the top floor with a relaxed ambience, ideal for sunset drinks or a nightcap. CHAR Restaurant is adjacent to the rooftop bar, and it offers grilled meats, seafood, and fusion dishes in a refined setting.
Rants The check-out process was painful as there is no express option, which is hard to believe in today’s digital era.
Overall Experience A decent IHG property in the heart of Bangkok which is good for points redemption. The hotel shows signs of aging, and the rooftop pool is one of the main highlights for me. It is definitely not a wow property, where efficiency of its operations could be better such as the check-out process.
