Previously The Astor Grill, the newest dining concept at The St. Regis Singapore is Sophia, a new restaurant concept for modern Italian dining. It is an extensive menu and the flavours at Sophia are inspired from across 11 regions of Italy by Chef de Cuisine Angelo Sergio. Temper
A new hotspot has opened in Tanjong Pagar. Located at Mondrian Singapore Duxton, Temper is a 4,000 sqft wine room and cocktail lounge by Ebb & Flow Group. The interior design of Temper takes on raw materials, sculptural geometry, and the ambience is softened by moody light. Executive Chef Nicolas Tam of three-time one-Michelin-starred Willow and Head Chef Ronald Sim (previously from Burnt Ends and Candlenut) curated the food menu. The wine programme is led by Wine Director Roberto Duran (formerly of 67 Pall Mall), anchored by a cellar of over 2,100 bottles from more than 30 countries. [Read more here for our full review]

Il Toro Woodfire Grill
Another new exciting concept has opened at Gemmill Lane after La Vache!, where I checked out Il Toro Woodfire Grill by AC Concepts, touted as a modern Italian woodfire grill with a distinct Australian soul helmed by Chef Drew Nocente. This is also the same group behind restaurants like Cenzo, Chicco Pasta Bar and Nomada. The concept here is cooking over flame where 90% of the cooking is done over the woodfire grill. The menu is designed around a series of starters and the meats where you can expect prime cuts of beef to seafood and sides. You can choose to do ala carte orders or opt for the Chefs Feast (S$118) which features a selection of dishes & cuts. [Read more here for our full review]

Restaurant 錦軒 Cougar Lee
Located at Tras Street, Restaurant 錦軒 Cougar Lee is quite an under the radar concept which I only realise its existence recently. It is an intimate private kitchen concept which showcases Chef Ethan Lee’s experience in European kitchens combined with his roots in a family-run Beijing restaurant. You can expect some bold reinterpretation of Chinese culinary traditions. The extensive menu presents Chinese dishes elevated with European influences, highlighting premium and housemade ingredients. You can expect inventive “tapas-style” small plates, main courses, and curated multi-course meals. Signature highlights include Lee’s Steamed Roasted Iberico Pork “Siu Mai”, Foie Gras Terrine Wrapped in Filo Foil, Homemade Ngoh Hiang, and more. [Read more here for our full review]

Maxi Coffee Bar
Brand new space for one of our favourite coffee shops in Singapore. Maxi Coffee Bar is now at 64 Club Street where it takes on a back-alley spot with three sections: a foyer area at the entrance for ordering, a filter coffee room with bar seats and tables; and an outdoor pet-friendly space. Coffee is as good as I remember it to be, and the good thing is that the savoury menu has expanded too. Expect the likes of sandwiches, toasts and bakes like banana bread with butter to go with your coffee.

Tsujiri Premium Tanjong Pagar
Located just beside Champion Bolo Bun, this new Japanese cafe spot spans across three levels. The first level is where you order while the second level is the main dining space which is inspired by Japanese garden theme and wooden interior. The attic level is where you get a tatami-style dining. The menu is quite extensive, and it focuses on matcha desserts, warabimochi and parfaits.
