Hotel Review: Conrad Singapore Orchard King Deluxe Balcony Suite | Well-Appointed Rooms With Fantastic Dining Concepts

The Hotel Tucked away in the quieter end of Orchard Road, I checked into Conrad Singapore Orchard last month for a weekend staycation. Formerly Regent Singapore, this iconic property has been reimagined under Hilton’s Conrad brand, where the hotel is just steps from Orchard Boulevard MRT, Tanglin Mall, and the lush Singapore Botanic Gardens. For tourists, this location offers a peaceful reprieve from the main Orchard Road shopping belt yet remains accessible.

As part of the rebrand to Conrad Singapore Orchard, the rooms and hotel lobby are refurbished.

This property is also very iconic for me because of its unique interior design – the hotel’s dramatic 12-storey atrium.

The Room There are 445 rooms, including 46 suites, all thoughtfully redesigned with a residential, botanical theme.

Expect soothing tones, floor-to-ceiling windows, and curated artwork that brings the outdoors in. Pet-friendly rooms are also available on request.

Some highlights in the room include Espresso machines & filtered water taps in every room, Byredo bath amenities and Dyson hairdryers in suites, Private balconies in select rooms and plush bedding and blackout curtains for a restful sleep.

I stayed at the King Deluxe Balcony Suite with Lounge Access, a spacious 81 sq. m. with separate living area, bedroom and powder room.

I love how elegant and contemporary the suite is, and it just feels very cosy as I stepped in as the suite is decked in light palette.

The first part of the suite is the large living area and pantry where the coffee machine and water filter is.

There are also two private balconies at the living room and the bedroom, 65-inch HDTV, work desk and curated art pieces by local artists.

The ensuite bathroom area comes with a walk-in closet, rain shower, and Byredo bath amenities.

The Facilities For those who booked suite rooms or possess Hilton Honors Diamond status, the Executive Lounge offers a quiet space to unwind with complimentary refreshments and light bites.

You can choose to have breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapés at the lounge. The lounge is not huge, but it is quite elegantly designed, with two main dining sections and outdoor seats as well.

For the evening bites, one of the highlights include rotating dishes from Summer Palace and Basilico.

There is a small Outdoor pool with sun loungers, though the downside is that it is not a lap pool and it is also beside Basilico.

The 24-hour fitness centre is relatively big and well-equipped for a good work out, which has a good range of cardio and resistance training machines.

There is even a reformer pilates machine.

The Restaurants If there is one strong forte of this hotel, it is the solid line up of dining concepts. Conrad Singapore Orchard is home to 10 distinctive dining concepts, each offering a unique experience.

For Chinese cuisine, Summer Palace is a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant with excellent food and wines, including Chinese wines.

Manhattan is an award-winning cocktail bar with a vintage New York vibe.

Basilico has one of the most classic Italian restaurants in Singapore with a legendary cheese room during their Weekend Brunch Buffet.

For one of the best afternoon tea experiences in SingaporeTea Lounge does a buffet afternoon tea concept on weekends in a garden-inspired setting.

Other dining concepts include Dolcetto for Italian pasticceria for coffee and gourmet bites; Park90 which is a wine bar with rare vintages; The House Bar, a hidden lounge for craft cocktails; Tenshin for authentic Japanese tempura; Seoul restaurant for Korean charcoal BBQ; and In-room dining for cozy nights in.

The hotel also offers curated experiences like cocktail flights and cheese infusion workshops—perfect for a weekend indulgence.

Breakfast is held at Basilico where the spread is very diverse from local delights to international options.

Rants No spa facilities and the outdoor pool is also quite small.

Overall Experience I had a great stay at Conrad Singapore Orchard. The dining concepts in this hotel are one of the best in Singapore and I love how well-appointed it is for the suite I stayed in. It is also conveniently located in town yet away from the hustle and bustle.
