Food Review: Smash Street At Amoy Street | Smash Burger Restaurant By Viral Pasta Bar Scarpetta
The Place By the team behind the hit pasta joint Scarpetta along Amoy Street, Smash Street is a new 14-seat modern burger joint which specialises in smash beef burgers which starts from S$14. It is an open kitchen concept where each burger is prepared ala minute, from the soft brioche bun to the beef patty. There is no seating per se, as it operates as a long counter, standing burger joint concept.

As part of the opening promotion, Smash Street is giving out a total of 1000 free burgers this weekend during lunch and dinner services on a first come first served basis. This equates to 250 free burgers per service per day.

The Food It is a concise menu where you just have to decide to go for the Classic (S$14) (two smash beef patties, melted cheese) or House (S$17) (three smash beef patties, melted cheese), and you can choose any add on such as Onion Relish (+S$2), Bacon (+S$3), Pickles (free) or Jalepeno (free).

I had the House burger which comes with three thick beef patties. The patties are incredibly juicy. You get that relatively thin texture along with crisp edges and a browned surface.

I added onion relish while The Rantee tried a version with bacon and I must say the bacon and beef patty combination is a big, delicious mess to go for if you are up for it.

Side dishes to complement the burgers include the crispy and addictive Chicken Poppers (S$10) with chilli crunch aioli, Fries (S$6) and Onion Rings (S$6).

Rants It can get smoky in the tight shophouse space as each burger is prepared ala minute. No reservations taken as well.
Will I Return Again? For a smashing good time, yes. I love the no frills concept and uncomplicated menu which puts all the spotlight on the burger. This is a perfect spot for a quick grub or lunch takeaway for CBD folks.
