Jeju Haenyeo
Located within The Arts House in Cityhall, Jeju Haenyeo is a very different dining experience to say the least. This is the first overseas branch of Haenyeo’s Kitchen, bringing the first-ever Jeju Haenel show and dining experience to Singapore where it has multiple branches in Jeju. Seating is quite limited which makes it an intimate ambience, where the whole dining experience lasts for about two hours. I am not going to spoil much of the surprises here, but you can expect light, sound and movement of the staff throughout the meal.It is a fixed set menu which changes seasonally to reflect fresh, local ingredients. You can expect an omakase-style seasonal seafood dishes to reflect Jeju’s rich coastal bounty. [Read more here for our full review]

Touchwood Breakfast Bar
If the idea of maple-malted scones and English muffin sandwiches intrigue you, this is a must visit spot. I love this new weekend only indie spot in Joo Chiat located off the main Joo Chiat Road. By the same team behind Brotherbird Bakehouse, I love how the store is organised – pick from the small items like scones and muffins displayed, or you can go for their more substantial breakfast sandwiches. We had their Cheesy Egg Mushroom Muffin sandwich set (S$15) which comes with a drink, and we love the texture of the muffin. The combination of onion, cheese and egg works wonders. Seating is casual here, mainly outdoors on camper seats. There are a few tables indoor for a quick grub while standing. Quite a vibe in the hood, isn’t it?
