Food Review: Cherry Garden | Dim Sum at Mandarin Oriental
The Place Located in Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Cherry Garden is a fine Chinese restaurant in Singapore which serves Dim Sum buffet. Due to the limited seats in house, there are two time slots available for the buffet: 11am and 1pm respectively. As there is only 2 hours for the buffet for each seating, I would say that time is pretty tight considering that there is so much to order and try from the extensive Dim Sum menu.
I am extremely fond of the traditional Chinese ambience and decor of Cherry Garden, as well as the peace I enjoy from dining here unlike the usual boisterous affair of Dim Sum dining.
The Food The Dim Sum buffet spread in Cherry Garden is arguably one of the best Dim Sum in Singapore. The quality of each dish is pretty consistent as well. I would recommend coming for the buffet in groups of 4 at least in order to have your hands on most of the Dim Sum dishes.
I have to specially mention the Char Siew Bun here, as I think it is the best in Singapore.
One of my favourites: Fried Eggplant with Pork Floss

Unfortunately, the Xiao Long Bao is mediocre and is incomparable to those from Din Tai Feng.

I love the presentation of the dessert: Mango Sago served in a glass cylinder with dry ice. It is very refreshing after an overdose of Dim Sum.
Will I return again? I am sure I will. I must admit that it is quite difficult to come across good quality Dim Sum in Singapore but this is one restaurant which should not be missed. It is a cosy venue for a lazy uninterrupted afternoon gathering with your friends or family.
