Food Review: The Factory [CLOSED]

The Place Located near Kovan along Lim Tua Tow Road, The Factory is one of the latest chill-out additions offering desserts and finger food. It is best to check out this place by car since it is a distance from Kovan station. It is a nice place to chill on a lazy weekend afternoon, reading a book or magazine in peace since it is still pretty unknown to many.

Simple industrial interior.
The Food
I came here specially for the Fries after reading about the uniquely Singapore artisan dips it offers. True enough, there were the likes of Bak Kwa with Sweet Onion and Laksa Pesto with Roasted Cashew dips.

Other than the Fries, there are also Desserts such as Ice-cream ($3.50 for single scoop; $6 for double scoop) and Belgium Waffles ($3.50).

There is also the Handcrafted Toppings which comes in small jars such as the Baileys Dark Chocolate Ganache ($2.50).

The friendly staff recommended that I choose the hand-cut thick Fries ($7.50 for regular size, with one artisan dip) over the skinny Shoestring Fries for a larger surface area to dip into the sauce, which I couldn’t agree more. The taste of the Bak Kwa with Sweet Onion Sauce turns out to be a pleasant surprise as I have never imagined that this flavour can be replicated to such perfection. The taste of the Bak Kwa blended well with the sweet onion and it does feel like you are having the real Bak Kwa. Highly recommended for all Bak Kwa lovers out there.

Regular size Fries with the Bak Kwa dip
I also specially requested for the Affogato ($4.70) which is not listed on the menu. Kudos to the flexible staff for acceding to my random request. This is probably one of the best Affogato I have ever had. The espresso is not too strong to stomach and it goes very well with the home made Vanilla ice-cream.

Will I return again? Yes, I will pop by again if I am in the vicinity and also to try the waffles and other artisan dips the next time round.
