Food Review: The Landing Point
The Place It has always been on my wish list to try the high-tea buffet at The Landing Point and I was really excited when I finally have the chance to check it out. The buffet area is set in the lounge area of Fullerton Bay Hotel, which reminds me L’Espresso. The ambience is however way better. The view of Marina Bay Sands is perfect from where I was sitting, and it really makes a dining experience much more pleasant with comfy cushy seats and what’s more, a complimentary view of the most iconic Singapore skyline. Food At $43++, the price is comparable to most high-tea buffets in town. It is reasonably priced in my opinion as quality is not compromised at The Landing Point. The buffet includes three rounds of coffee or tea selection, with about 20 different flavours of TWG tea to choose from. I managed to try 2 pots of tea and a Macchiato and I absolutely love all my drinks.
The iced mocha is recommended as well.
The macchiato is just right for me, with the right amount of milk yet retaining the essence of the drink.
Finally the highlight of the buffet is definitely the 3-tier selection which is served at every table. The spread is mainly categorised into sweet and savoury, with the likes of Lemon tart, Crème brûlée tart, Chocolate eclair, smoked Salmon sandwich, Lobster cone and Egg sandwich. While this spread is not the most extensive I have had in a high-tea buffet, I am still quite satisfied at the end of it as I can feel that there is effort made into each item to ensure that the quality is not compromised.
What is a English high-tea buffet without Scones? I was slightly disappointed by it as I feel that it is not buttery enough, unlike the scones from L’Espresso.
Rants With perfect food and ambience to laze a Sunday afternoon away, tRP has to keep its mouth shut. Nothing to rant about but much to rave about instead. Service is close to impeccable, staff is friendly and wears a smile whenever they served our table. The manager is especially commendable in his service. This is the standard we would expect in a five star hotel instead of sloppy service standards as experienced in many other restaurants.
Will I return again? If the 3-tier high-tea buffet menu does change seasonally, I will be glad to spend time here again. This is certainly one good buffet to bring your foreign friends to, especially with the awesome view of Singapore.
