Snippets: Three Restaurants to check out in January 2014

Breaking out of a routine, trying new places have been the most rewarding experiences since starting this food blog. Following up on our earlier Check-out list in Nov’13, we are putting together yet another list of the next must-tries! Stay tuned!

Pidgin Kitchen & Bar

What’s the fuss? Dempsey has have its fair share of hits and misses – remember our earlier review of the now defunct The Dempsey Brasserie? Pidgin opened its doors in the later half of 2013, with its kitchen focusing on Western cuisine with a Singaporean touch (or is it the other way around – we will find out!).

The Missing Pan

What’s the fuss? A bakery at level 1 and a brasserie on the second level, the concept itself is intriguing enough for tRP to put this new restaurant on our to check out list. Serving mainly brunch and western fares, rumours has it that the menu is revised every few weeks upon feedback from customers. The casual dining concept along Bukit Timah is also a fresh respite from the mostly atas restaurants in this district. Read tRP’s Review.

Jag’s Gastropub

What’s the fuss? Being an Eastie, tRP always greet every new hunts in the area with great excitement. Initial reviews on Jag’s have been rather positive, a welcomed addition to the Katong! Opened by 2 really young entrepreneur (i.e. in their late 20s) whom have adjusted its opening hours lasting to the wee hours daily, this seems to be an ideal place for a chill-lax retreat from our daily routine – even on a weekday.
