Food Review: Ricciotti | Casual Italian dining
The Place It has been around for long, but Ricciotti should not get complacent. The recent re-branding plans for the restaurant would seek to re-vitalise this long standing Italian restaurant to suit the Singaporeans’ lifestyle. We leant that their branches in China Square and the Star Vista will be given a new name and a brand new menu, focusing on a more “fast-Italian-food” concept to suit the busy working crowd they served.
While they are at it, Ricciotti will continue to be the affordable, yet authentic Italian gourmet food it set itself up to be!
The Food Typical Italian, you may think. Well, you are not too wrong from that, but their’s are priced so well, you might be tempted to return often for its goodness.
Caprese Salad ($14.50) needs no further introduction. For the tomatoes and cheese lovers, this is something you shouldn’t miss.
Pizzotto ($23.50) is definitely the flavour I would order any time. The thickness of the pizza crust here was just right and the match of ingredients was very much to our liking. Yes, i know, bacon, mushrooms, egg and mozzarella cheese, sounds boring and a safe choice. But, what’s there not to like?! =)
How can we not put their pasta to the test? For crabmeat lovers, Linguine Al Granchio ($22.50) is definitely one of the must try here! Well mixed with shredded crab meat, together with the creamy tomato sauce, would give this a thumbs-up. But the price seems a bit on the steep end for a pasta though.
Now now, always my favourite part of any meals, DESSERTS! Had the Lemon Meringue Tart ($5.50) at Ricciotti. Not sure why, but my love for lemon has been on the rise! The tart here feels slightly too dry, but it does satisfy my lemon craze.
Rants Make it even more affordable. Try their Set Lunches, this option will make your wallet thicker.
Will I return again? Ricciotti serves good honest Italian fare, and it does it quite well. Having been around for 10 years, might just be the right time to give itself some sorta rebranding to reach out to new customers – tRP looks forward to that, and will definitely visit their new concept branches again!
