Food Review: Skinny Salads | Eating clean with flavours [CLOSED]

The Place Having a tasty salad bowl sounds like an oxymoron to some, but Skinny Salad look set to debunk that notion. Located at 100AM mall just beside its sister outlet Skinny Pizza (have since relocated to Plaza Singapura), there is a whole range of specially crafted salads and wraps at the fairly new Skinny Salad concept. The concept is pretty much no frills, where you simply choose your salad or wrap at the counter while feasting on the array of colourful ingredients simultaneously. Pack it or dine-in if you have the luxury of time!

The Food
I am usually not a salad person as I need my meat intake. The offerings at Skinny Salad are wide enough to make me walk in and settle for a clean diet. I rejoice in the Seared Tuna and Radicchio ($13.50) and the Organic Chicken and Spinach ($12.50) salad, which feels more filling for me. Freshness is largely emphasized at Skinny Salads, including the salad dressing which is freshly made from scratch daily.

Other notable salads include the Fermented Cabbage and Yuzu ($11.50) and the Kale and Quinoa ($11.50)salad.

For something heavier, I will recommend the wraps such as the Seared Tuna and Tapenade ($10.50), Master Stock Pork Belly ($8.80) and the Roasted Chicken ($8.50).

To end off the healthy meal, the fresh juices are great refreshing treats, with motivating names such as Great Detox (Orange/Carrot/Ginger) and The Great C (Orange/Grapefruit).

Rants
It still feels expensive to folk out an average of $10 bucks for a bowl of salad, but hey it’s all worthwhile for health’s sake?

Will I return again? Eating clean is a journey and requires discipline. I always believe in moderation in everything, so I will definitely have my dose of salad occasionally. And I am not at all delusional that this alone will make me skinny.
