Food Review: Menya Takeichi at Eat at Seven | Chicken broth ramen for the soul in Suntec City
The Place A new ramen chain joined the food scene lately, at the mega Japanese concept Eat at Seven in Suntec City. Hailing from Tokyo, Menya Takeichi specialises in chicken ramen, with 40 stores in Japan currently.

The Food The ramen at Menya Takeichi is famous for its rich collagen content, the result of simmering the chicken and specifically chicken feet for hours. My favourite is the Special Rich Shoyu Ramen ($16.50), not that the Special Ramen ($15.50) is not as nice, but I prefer a richer broth.
Some side dishes worth trying are the Fried Chicken with Tartar Sauce ($8) and Potato Salad ($7) with Nikumiso and Mentaiko.
Rants The Rantee quipped that the chicken broth could have been more intense in flavour, as compared to other chicken ramen he had in Japan previously.
Will I Return Again? The ramen battle in Singapore seems to be a never ending affair. That said, chicken broth ramen joint is still not as commonly encountered as tonkotsu or pork broth ramen. Menya Takeichi is definitely a decent option to satisfy the occasional chicken ramen craving.
