Snippets: Panda’s take on the Best Restaurants in Orchard Road | From Casual Diners, to Splurging on Fine Dining Restaurants

Singapore – As one of the most popular tourist spot and shopping belt in the world, there are no lack of dining options in Orchard Road, though we would also say that many are also not worthy of the calories. Here are some of our recommendations of where to eat in Orchard Road after years of seeing how the food scene has changed on this long stretch, from Casual to Mid-Range to Fine-Dining – Tsuta at Pacific Plaza, the first overseas outpost of One-Michelin started ramen from Tokyo; Honolulu Cafe in Centrepoint for an affordable Hong Kong teahouse experience; Beauty in the Pot, one of the most popular hotpot destination for locals; Oriole Cafe at 313 Somerset for brunch and coffee; Beni at Mandarin Gallery to impress your date, and some hidden gems we wish would never be discovered.

Beauty In The Pot
Ask us which is our favourite hotpot restaurant in Singapore and Beauty in the Pot has been our Favourite the past few years. It started with its first outlet at One KM, before opening their second branch at Centrepoint in the past one year or so. The main difference in the Centrepoint outlet is you get to choose from up to 8 different soup bases instead of merely the spicy mala soup base or its signature collagen rich shark’s cartilage broth. Dancing Fish Signature
An award-wining Indonesian restaurant from Kuala Lumpur which recently opened in Singapore at TANGS Plaza in Orchard Road, Dancing Fish Signature is a concept opened since 2010 in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur and serves hearty Indonesian cuisine. The misconception is that most Indonesia dishes have to be spicy but not the case here as I enjoyed dishes like the Bebek Goreng Bali, a Balinese style roast duck and its signature tilapia Dancing Fish. The space is contemporary looking with subtle touches of batik on the walls which is classy. [Read more here…]
