Food Review: Loyang Way Big Prawn Noodles In Changi | Delicious And Umami Rich Prawn Mee In Loyang Way Food Village
The Place Singaporeans love their prawn noodles. I have tried a couple of prawn noodles stalls over the past few months (Da Dong Prawn Noodles, Prawn & Mee) and Loyang Way Big Prawn Noodles has been on my to go list for a long time. I finally made time to check it out on Saturday, and the prawn mee stall is tucked away in a small food centre in the Loyang industrial area. I like the food centre for the ample tables and it is quite well-ventilated.
The Food The Big Prawn Noodles is the signature dish here and it is available at S$5, S$7 or S$9. I went straight for the Big Prawn Noodles (S$5) and decided on the dry version where I get an additional bowl of soup.
My first litmus test is always the soup, and the version here is very luscious. It spots a bright orange hue and the soup is full of umami. I can seriously just drink the soup for a meal. My recommendation is to request for some chilli in the dry noodles as it really adds much more oomph.
I like how the noodles is topped with crispy pork lard and fried shallots, and it is simply delicious when all the components are mixed together. I also added an interestingly named Quick Sand Egg (S$1) which really just taste like the usual hard-boiled egg.
The Rantee opted to have the Pork Rib Prawn Noodles (S$5) soup version, as we wanted to draw a comparison between soup or dry. We are divided in our opinions, though my take is to go for the dry noodles and you can still enjoy the soup by the side.
No rants for the pork ribs, it is tender within expectations.
Rants Not a convenient spot to check out without a car, and note that it doesn’t open on Sundays.
Will I Return Again? Overall, I really enjoyed the prawn noodles at Loyang Way Big Prawn Noodles and am already thinking about a return visit it as I penned this article. This is easily one of the best prawn noodles around in Singapore.

I agreed with yr review on the loyang prawn noodle. I have tried and had returned several time again especially tje broth is one of the best.
One really disappointed in the last few months is the quality of the prawn. The texture soft as paste and seem not fresh. This is one thing they need big improvement.
I still will go back for the broth.
