Food Review: Five Oars Coffee Roasters At Upper East Coast Road | Spacious Lush Cafe In Siglap

The Place Located at Upper East Coast Road, Five Oars Coffee Roasters finally opened its doors few days ago. It used to be at Tanjong Pagar Road, and its new space is much more spacious with both indoor and outdoor seats. Expect lush setting throughout the cafe, Instagrammable corners and pockets of natural light at certain tables.

It was packed over the weekend and the waiting time could be up to 45 minutes.

The Food The brunch menu is quite robust with a wide selection. Expect the likes of Pork Benedict (S$19), Sriracha Chicken Benedict (S$18), and Crab Scramble (S$23).

I went for the Mushroom Scramble (S$16), with homemade sourdough, scrambled eggs, feta, cauliflower and crispy kale. Love the aroma of the dish when it was served and while it doesn’t look like a big portion, it is quite filling. Nice buttery scrambled eggs and crispy kale combination.

I also had the Chocolate Hazelnut Praline (S$9), a tall slice which could do with more pronounced flavour of the hazelnut. The moist texture of the cake is good though.

For drinks, the coffee is punchy and smooth in flavour. I had the 8 Oz Flat White (S$8) and Hot Black (S$4.50).

Rants Potential considerable waiting time with not much options to linger in the immediate vicinity. No reservations taken for now as well.

Will I Return Again? Beautiful and spacious cafe space in the east, Five Oars Coffee Roasters is set to be a hit with easties. I would love to be back for more of its food and coffee for sure.
