Lounge Review: Cathay Pacific The Deck Business Class Lounge, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) | Gorgeous Oneworld Lounge With Ample Natural Light
The Lounge Cathay Pacific has some of the best Business Class lounges in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), namely – The Pier, The Wing and The Deck. During my recent flight from Hong Kong to Singapore, I finally had the chance to check out all three lounges. This review will solely be for The Deck Business Lounge, which is located on level 7 in Terminal 1 near Gate 6.
For comparison, I have previously reviewed The Pier Business Lounge in a separate review as well.

Access For a full list of boarding passes which meet the requirements to access The Pier Business Lounge, do check out Cathay Pacific website.
The Food The Noodle Bar at The Deck is definitely the highlight for me with its open-kitchen concept. The menu features a combination of local classics and regional Asian specialties like Sichuanese Dan Dan Noodles, Singapore Laksa, and Taiwanese beef noodles.

My favourite is the Sichuanese Dan Dan Noodles which is very savoury and the best part is the separate addition of dumplings which soak up the essence of the broth. Down the noodles with some Piper Heidsieck Cuvee Brut Champagne!

Other classic Hong Kong dishes include Dumplings, Char Siu Buns and Wonton Noodle soup.

There is also a small buffet line in the Main Lounge area with the likes of salad, fruits and desserts.

The Facilities There are two main seating areas at The Deck, the Main Lounge and The Terrace. With its focus on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, the Main Lounge offers more of a living room vibe rather than a formal lounge setting.

The selection of designer furniture, carefully chosen for its practicality and style, adds a touch of elegance to the space.

Alternatively, The Terrace at The Deck is a fantastic space that sets it apart from other lounges. As a spacious open-area balcony, it offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while still being within the comfort of the lounge.

Being situated at an elevated level, The Terrace provides guests with panoramic views of the terminal building and the runway. This offers a unique perspective and an exciting vantage point to observe the airport’s activities. Guests can enjoy watching planes take off and land, and witness the hustle and bustle of the airport environment from a more relaxed and elevated position.

I personally prefer The Terrace for a meal with its ample natural lighting in the day. There are also various table sizes and layout designed to accommodate to the various needs and preferences of different guests, be it to work, dine, or socialise. I love the functionality and aesthetic appeal of The Terrace.

In terms of shower, there are eight shower rooms which is fairly spacious and complete with Bamford toiletries.

Rants The space of The Deck is not as big as compared to The Pier, so you would not find a dedicated tearoom or a drinks bar here.
Overall Experience Overall, The Deck is a thoughtfully designed and furnished space that combines practicality, comfort, and aesthetics. I like the welcoming and homely environment, and this part of HKIA feels less busy as compared to the other Cathay Pacific lounges like The Pier and The Wing.
