Lounge Review: Cathay Pacific The Wing Business Class Lounge, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) | The Poorer Cousin Of The Pier Business Class Lounge
The Lounge Cathay Pacific has some of the best Business Class lounges in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), namely – The Pier, The Wing and The Deck. During my recent flight from Hong Kong to Singapore, I finally had the chance to check out all three lounges. This review will solely be for The Wing Business Lounge, which is located on level 6 in Terminal 1 near Gates 1 to 4.

The Wing Business Lounge takes up two levels in the airport, with level 6 being the reception and level 7 is where the actual lounge space is. On the left side of the reception on level 7 is The Wing Business Lounge, while the right side is The Wing First Class Lounge.

Access For a full list of boarding passes which meet the requirements to access The Wing Business Lounge, do check out Cathay Pacific website.
The Food The Noodle Bar at The Wing is definitely the highlight for me with its open-kitchen concept. The menu features a combination of local classics and regional Asian specialties like Sichuanese Dan Dan Noodles.

There is also a small buffet line with the likes of salad, fruits and desserts.

The Long Bar is the other highlight at The Wing, which is a long white marble-top row which overlooks the runway and it is perhaps the best plane watching spot. It operates like a bar, so feel free to order drinks to go along with some of the bar bites and canapés on the buffet line adjacent to the Long Bar.

There is another buffet line in the main lobby area right after you enter the lounge, which serves mainly Western food like sandwiches and wraps.

Unfortunately, the Coffee Loft section has not yet reopened during my visit.

The Facilities There are three main seating areas at The Wing – the Main Lobby, The Long Bar and The Noodle Bar sections.
The Main Lobby offers more of a living room vibe rather than a formal lounge setting, and it is the busiest part of the lounge.

Alternatively, the seats at the Long Bar is a fantastic spot for plane watching with easy access to order drinks as you wish from the bartender.
The innermost section after walking through a long corridor (which feels like a spa reception walkway) is where the Noodle Bar is, and this is also the most private section of the lounge should you need to catch up on some work.

Rants Unfortunately there are no shower cubicles at The Wing Business Lounge.
Overall Experience Overall, it feels busy at The Wing Business Lounge and while it is still a relatively good lounge to check out, it is also my least favourite Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge in HKIA if I were to compare it to The Deck and The Pier. Aesthetically, it is the most underwhelming amongst the three lounges for me, with a lack of shower amenities being one of the main drawbacks as well.
