Tambi
One of the most exciting new openings in the past few weeks is Tambi, a casual Southern Indian-Korean restaurant along Amoy Street by two different Michelin-starred chefs, Chef Sun Kim from Meta and Chef Mano Thevar from Thevar. Highlights include Oxtail Bone Marrow Murtabak with Pickled Onion, a delicious fried roti with flavorful oxtail meat; Tambi’s Bibimmyeon which is a fusion take on Korean Cold Spicy Noodles; and Beef Tartare Appalam seasoned in delicious gochujang sauce. Honbo
Located in Chijmes, Honbo is a casual burger restaurant from Hong Kong which has opened its first overseas outpost in Singapore few days ago. The brand prides itself as serving straightforward American-style burgers made from fresh ingredients. To ensure consistency, Honbo exclusively imports its own USDA Double Gold Beef directly from Wisconsin, USA, standing as the solitary burger joint worldwide to feature this premium beef. The namesake Honbo comes with two crispy beef patties, cheese, pickles, onion, and house sauce. Butahage  
The renowned Hokkaido restaurant famed for its award-winning specialty of succulent and flavourful butadon (pork bowl), is opening a flagship outlet at Suntec City this August. Hailing from the city of Obihiro, Hokkaido, widely-recognised as the birthplace of Obihiro Meibutsu Buta Don or ‘Obihiro Famous Pork Rice Bowl’, Butahage possesses a rich heritage of over 80 years of exceptional culinary excellence. Tomidou 
Located in 1 Nassim in Tanglin district, Tomidou is a new Japanese omakase restaurant in Singapore and is helmed by Chef Akira Horikawa from Japan with close to three decades of culinary experience in sushi. The space of Tomidou is contemporary and elegant, with a 13-seater sushi counter, two connected VIP rooms, one accommodating 8 seats and the other 4 seats, each with its own sushi counter.  [Read more here…]

Bottega di Carna
One of the new exciting developments in Duxton, Mondrian Singapore Duxton is the brand’s first property in Singapore which also houses an Italian restaurant, Bottega di Carna. Sushi Michi
Opened quietly in Orchard Plaza by the same team behind Yuta which is one of the most affordable Japanese Omakase restaurants in Orchard Road, Sushi Michi is a cosy and intimate 12-seater counter seating Japanese Omakase restaurant with a focus on sushi Omakase. There is only set Omakase menus at Sushi Michi where there are two lunch menus – Tama Omakase (S$80, 13 courses with 10 pieces of nigiri) or Yuu Omakase (S$108, 13 courses with 10 pieces of premium nigiri). EatAlley
EatAlley brings Malaysian flavours to Singapore in a chic food court located in the heart of Orchard Road where the 150-seater air-conditioned space is located at the basement of Orchard Gateway. There are seven “branded” stalls and EatAlley’s own drinks and desserts stall – Fatty OUG, Kedai Kopi Dan Makanan Hong Lai, Kam Heong Braised Duck, Koon Kee Wantan Mee, Siong Huat Bah Kut Teh, Soong Kee Beef Noodle, and Uncle Beh Pork Noodle. The individual stalls are managed by a team of cooks handpicked by the founder where the cooks underwent a training program which involved flying over to Malaysia to learn the recipes directly from the brand owners.

Fat Cow Unveils A New Wagyu Omakase By Chef Shingo Iijima 
If you love wagyu beef, this is one menu to try. Guided by Chef Shingo Iijima, the fine Japanese restaurant has transformed its Wagyu Omakase (S$290++) on a journey through Japan’s diverse prefectures via the tantalizing flavors of Japanese Wagyu beef sourced from Hokkaido, Tochigi, Gunma, Ohmi, Matsusaka, Nagasaki, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima.  Highlights include the Charcoal Grilled Wagyu with Burdock Sauce, Wagyu & Watercress Shabu and the Zensai Platter which is unveiled dramatically with fire beneath a sheet of traditional Japanese paper. Altro Zafferano
The new Journey Menu (S$248++ per diner) specially curated by both Executive Chef Andrea and Head Chef Daniele showcase flavours from different parts of Italy starting with the quartet of canapes inspired by the flavours of breakfast in Italy. Other highlights in the Journey Menu include the Pasta Mista, which showcases five raviolis of varied shapes, colours and fillings: each representing a region of Italy; Friday’s Sole, where we see the sole fillet along with trout roe caper mugnaia sauce and steamed white asparagus; Gambero 3000, which uses Mazara prawn topped with Nduja powder with emulsified capsicum extract and red prawn essence.

Refreshed Japanese Kaiseki Dining Experience At Noka
The intimate 20-seater restaurant is now a Japanese kaiseki concept, and it now only offers Omakase menus. At the helm of Noka is Chef Ryosuke Deguchi, who brings with him authentic traditional Kaiseki training acquired at renowned two and three-Michelin-starred restaurants in Kyoto. Lunch menu starts at S$120 and dinner menu at S$200, while the sake programme also follows a seasonal theme, pairing each course with a specially curated selection, available at S$75 for lunch and S$125 for dinner. What is different at Noka from other Japanese restaurants is that is utilises flowers from the edible garden as well as working with local farmers to offer kaiseki dining with a modern style twist. Mother Earth Classic
The second outlet of vegetarian Chinese restaurant Mother Earth (first outlet in Jurong) opened a month ago right beside San Shu Gong Private Dining, the Geylang outlet boats an extensive selection of familiar looking dishes for those who are not vegetarian. Think Triple Satay Platter with Monkey Head Mushroom Satay, Crabmeat Sauce with Golden Pillows, Crispy Yam Ring, Fruity Youtiao Rojak, and more. It is also vegan friendly, just inform the staff if you have vegan requirements.
