Hotel Review: Alila Seminyak, Bali, King Bed Deluxe Room | Beautiful Beachfront Resort Under World Of Hyatt

The Hotel One of the properties which I am very keen to check out in Seminyak, Bali, I finally got the chance to stay in Alila Seminyak last month, one of the gorgeous resort properties in Bali under World Of Hyatt. The location of Alila Seminyak is right beside Potato Head Suites & Studios, where it occupies the quieter end of a sun-drenched beach that stretches five miles north from Kuta and Legian. Despite so, this is still a popular stretch of beach in Seminyak for beginner surfing, legendary sunsets, and also home to some of Bali’s most popular beach clubs including Ku De Ta and Potato Head.

My first impression of Alila Seminyak was awesome as I stepped into the expansive lobby. It is tranquil, minimalist in design and I instantly felt the welcoming sea breeze on my face.

The whole resort exudes an understated luxury and sophisticated vibes, which I like. The check in process is done at the comfort of the sofa in the lobby, and a welcome drink and cold towel were also served.

In terms of the resort’s architecture, there are vertical greens woven throughout the contemporary architecture with wall-hugging plants and verdant terraces to complement the beachfront sanctuary landscape.

The Room I checked into the King Bed Deluxe room which is located in a separate building from the main resort building where the reception is located.

It is a short walk over a connecting bridge from the main resort building, where there is also a small pool named Relax pool although there is not much of a view to speak of.

As the entry level room category in the resort, it is a relatively spacious room at 46 sqm, with an outdoor balcony and a distant sea view.

The room design is minimalist with contemporary Balinese design and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. A sliding door separates the bedroom from the wardrobe and bathroom space, which features double vanity sinks and separate toilet and standing shower zone.

There is no work desk in this room category in case you are planning to do some serious work.

The Facilities The best part of the resort for me are the pools. There are two quiet infinity pools on the left and right side of the main reception, which is great in terms of the design, where you can do some serious lap swimming.

These two infinity pool areas are great for some quiet reading under the sun, or simply to take a nap while sunbathing.

Otherwise, the infinity pools offer a great view of the beach bar and the beach, where sunset hour is truly mesmerising.

There is another pool at the beach bar area which is nosier and packed at most times of the day, though the benefit is that you get direct access to the beach. If you are into people watching, this is the day bed spot you want to be at.

It is also really nice to just grab a bean bag and watch the waves.

The sunset hour in Seminyak is amazing. I am thankful for the great weather I had during my stay as I watched the sky transformed into an unreal golden hour.

The gym is located on ground level close to the beach bar and is decently equipped though the equipment is a tad dated. Limited benches for weights training too.

There is also Spa Alila if you need a massage.

The Restaurants The main and only restaurant is Seasalt, where the outdoor seats overlooking the sea are the best.

Beautiful interior and outdoor terrace, with a seafood focused menu.

Breakfast is also served here, though my room booking was without breakfast this time round. Instead, I had lunch at Seasalt where prices are relatively steep by Bali standards, where the food quality is quite average for me.

The other dining concept is Beach Bar, where you can have cocktails and beers, alongside thin-crust pizzas and Mediterranean bites. There are plenty of daybed or lounge chairs here.

Rants The lack of alternative proper dining options other than Seasalt which gave me the excuse to head out to Seminyak for meals instead.

Overall Experience I had a very relaxing stay at Alila Seminyak where the infinity pools and proximity to the beach stand out most for me. Beautiful resort design in an understated luxurious look and vibe which I really like, this is one property to add to my favourite hotels to stay in Bali.
