Hotel Review: Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur | Minimalist World Of Hyatt Property Linked To Bangsar LRT Station

The Hotel Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant Bangsar district, I stayed at the Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur this year which is part of World of Hyatt. The hotel is directly linked to Bangsar LRT Station via an overhead bridge, and it occupies level 35- 41 of the building, which is also a residence. The lobby is located on level 41, and it spots a contemporary design amidst the bustling cityscape.

Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur is my third Alila property and I do have a certain expectation especially after staying at the gorgeous Alila Seminyak in Bali and Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman.

Bangsar LRT Station is a mere one stop from KL Sentral, which makes this a convenient hotel to get to if you are taking the KLIA Express from the airport which I booked on Klook.

The first impression of the hotel for me was quite positive and the view of the city is unparalleled, and I also like the touches of greenery in the lobby area. The lobby exuded a sense of calmness with its minimalist decor and soothing ambiance.

I was early before noon in the morning and unfortunately no rooms were available despite being a World of Hyatt Explorist member. And nope, no upgrades were available despite my Explorist status.

The Room I booked a One Bedroom Studio which is relatively spacious at 409 square feet/38 square meters.

You get a good view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline from the outdoor balcony, and the room itself is quite sleek and minimalist.

The bathroom is seamlessly connected to the bedroom with an entry point beside the entrance, while the other entry point links directly to the bedroom section. It also boasts a spacious standing rain shower zone and a separate toilet.

The Facilities Being a small property, the gym is quite basic with limited equipment for strength training and just two benches.

The highlight is probably the pool located on level 40, an open-air pool design surrounded by comfortable day beds. My only gripe is that the pool lacks privacy, and it is visible for dining guests walking to Entier restaurant.

The Restaurants There are two dining concepts within the property, Entier French Dining and Botanica + Co. The former is located on level 41 and is a contemporary French dining concept with awesome views of the city and a gorgeous interior. I have dined at Entier twice for lunch and dinner previously and the food is delicious.

Botanica + Co, on the other hand, is a cafe located on level one and it is also the spot for breakfast if your hotel room comes with it.

Rants The room is showing some signs of aging and as mentioned above, the facilities are not particularly awesome for fitness enthusiasts. In terms of the location, there is also no immediate mall or other cafes within walking distance.

Overall Experience For less than MYR 350 a night, Alila Bangsar offers good value if you want a convenient World of Hyatt property to stay in KL. The service was passable, facilities are just ok, while the room shows some signs of aging. Otherwise, it is a convenient spot to get around KL for me since I used Grab most of the time.
