Hotel Review: Pullman Singapore Hill Street | Accor Property In City Hall With Luxury Train Theme Design
The Hotel Another new exciting addition to City Hall, I checked into the newly opened Pullman Singapore Hill Street this month, the second Pullman Hotel property in Singapore after Pullman Singapore Orchard opened just earlier this year. Pullman Singapore Hill Street takes on a distinct railway theme where the inspiration for the interiors goes back to Pullman’s 19th-century roots of luxury rail travel along with contemporary touches.

The location of the hotel is in central Singapore, within close proximity to City Hall MRT Station, and attractions like Fort Canning Park, St Andrew’s Cathedral and the National Gallery. The interior of the hotel takes on a contemporary dark wood finishings which adds to the sophisticated vibes. Spot the vintage luggage bags right at the lift lobby on ground level.

The lobby is sleek, and the check-in process is seamless. It is not a huge lobby, though there are entertainment facilities such as Play Station. You can also find Pullman Porters in the lobby, which can help guests with tips and suggestions on planning their itinerary.

There is also vast landscaping in the property’s outdoor pool area with plants that cascades down the facade of two blocks, part of the eco-conscious design which lowers the temperature of the building and reduces energy use,

The Room There are 350 rooms and suites in this property which suits the needs of business travellers to families. I checked into the Deluxe Room which offers a choice between 1 king bed or 2 single beds. It is a compact 25m² room and despite the compact size, all rooms come equipped with a work area.
In terms of design, you get automated curtain system where it opens automatically the moment you step into the room. The colour tone takes on a dark wood accent which is quite sleek in my opinion.

Upon entering the room, the open concept wardrobe is on one side while the bathroom is on the other side.

The bathroom comes with a separate shower and toilet zone, where the standing shower area is quite spacious.

My King Bed mattress is fairly hard and comfortable to my liking, and the room faces the interior of the property with a pool view as well. Other notable amenities include Nespresso machine and a flask if you need to boil water.

Do note that the hotel does not give out bottled water in the room, and instead there is a separate drinkable filter water system in the bathroom.

The Restaurants Breakfast is served at Madison’s on the ground floor, a New York inspired all-day dining restaurant.

It is a huge restaurant space with different pockets for added dining privacy, where some notable highlights for the breakfast are the live noodle station, egg station and a dessert live station which also features a Nutella dispenser.

Yes, you can dispense as much Nutella as you fancy on your waffles.

For lunch and dinner, you can expect dishes like burgers, sandwiches, steaks and coffee by Sarnies.

Located adjacent to Madison’s is Moga, a Japanese izakaya fare in a speakeasy setting.
If you are into rooftop bars, El Chido on the rooftop delivers Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails. You get a pretty good view of the city here, and the highlight is definitely the infinity pool. This space is open to public as well, where you can order food and drinks and take a dip at the same time.

The Facilities I managed to spend some time at the 24/7 Power Fitness gym which is a mix of indoor and outdoor equipment. It is fairly well-equipped for cardio or resistance workout, even though there is only one bench.

There is also one outdoor pool located at the lobby level, which is a decent size for some serious laps, including a jacuzzi corner just to relax. Quite a couple of cabanas here for that resort vibe, though I do find that the pool is also quite an open concept in the sense that it is somewhat in the middle of the property and is visible from the club lounge, lobby, gym and some of the rooms.

Guests who have booked Executive rooms will also have access to the Executive Lounge which serves complimentary breakfast, evening drinks with canapes, and refreshments throughout the day.

The design of the lounge is elegant, with different seating configurations to suit different purposes, be it to catch up on work or simply have a drink. Special mention goes to the delicious satay in the evening which is grilled outdoors!

Rants The outdoor pool on the lobby level is a little too open if you fancy more privacy.
Overall Experience The location of the hotel is excellent for tourists, and I like the strong rail theme and the contemporary, sleek interior of the property. If you are an Accor Plus member, this is one Accor property worth checking out in Singapore.
