Food Scoops: Treasure Toast At Purvis Street | Bao Er Cafe Opens New Cafe In Bugis Serving Its Viral Kaya Toast
What’s Buzzing? A new local cafe has quietly opened right opposite YY Kafei Dian along Purvis Street. The few days old Treasure Toast is a sister outlet of the viral Bao Er Cafe in Balestier Plaza.

What To Expect? Treasure Toast spots a modern old-school Kopitiam interior with a more spacious setting than Bao Er Cafe, which is a welcoming aspect.

Self-service system where you order at the counter, find your own table, and your order will be reflected by the digital queue system for self-collection.
Other than serving Bao Er’s signature Kaya Toast, the menu is quite extensive as it also includes dishes like Signature Fried Hokkien Mee (S$8.80), Luncheon Meat Fried Rice (S$6), Fried Bee Hoon (S$2.90), Prawn Noodle Soup (S$7.80), and more.

I only had space to try one dish and of course it had to be the Homemade Kaya Butter Toast Set (S$6) with choice of Hot Kopi/Teh and soft boiled eggs. The best part about the kaya toast is how crisp the texture of the bread is!

I also like the kaya which is very aromatic and rich in taste, along with the thick slab of butter.

The Kopi O I had was decent, as I prefer mine to be more intense in flavour.

Overall Experience This spot is going to give YY Ka Fei Dian a run for their money, and it is always great for diners with another option if they crave for local breakfast. It is air-conditioned, which is another plus point for me to be back.
