Situated in the heart of Singapore’s business district, Sushisamba Singapore is located at level 52 of Capital Tower in Tanjong Pagar and is currently the only Asia outpost of the famous brand where the brand also has presence in cities like London, Dubai and Las Vegas. The interior of Sushisamba is quite like a tropical garden for me, complemented by a 360 degrees panoramic views of Singapore with its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. The food is a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavours, with a dynamic range of dishes, from fresh sushi rolls to robata grill specialties. [Read more here for our full review]

Same Days Coffee
The new coffeeshop in the heart of Joo Chiat is tucked away in luxury furniture shop Grafunkt, and it exudes Omotesando Koffee vibes for us. The interior is a gorgeous minimalist wooden look with a nice juxtaposition with the rustic Joo Chiat neighbourhood on the outside. It serves primarily coffee with limited selection of bakes like canelé. Limited indoor seating is available, or you can just browse the furniture store with coffee on hand (just be cautious). The Rare Honey Company
A honey theme cafe gem we just discovered exists in Joo Chiat, where The Rare Honey Company is a dedicated honey bar and cafe which opened quietly in a quiet part of Joo Chiat. It is a nice and cosy space for some honey tasting where the honey here is all made by their own beekeepers in Western Australia. The staff is very knowledgeable to explain the difference in properties for each honey, which is also chemist certified for 100% purity and total activity (TA+). There is also a selection of honey desserts and beverages where we enjoyed the Honey Cheesecake topped with honeycomb! Also had their matcha latte with honey. [Read more here on the best cafes to check out in Joo Chiat and Katong]

Madame Fan Unveils New À La Carte Menu
The Cantonese restaurant at The NCO Club just revamped its menu recently and we have a couple of favourites. The Assorted Seafood and Tofu Rice comes with soft silky tofu and the texture of the rice is awesome. The Fruity Garlic Black Char Siew has a good balance of sweetness and tenderness, while the Marinated Free-Range Chicken in Chinese Herbs should delight protein lovers. If you love your fish, we also enjoyed the Poached Xin Hui Tangerine Peel Yellow Croaker Fish in Salt Water along with celery and shallot oil – really fresh, simple in flavours yet delicious.

Pete’s Place Reopens At The Grand Hyatt Singapore
The new space is a complete overhaul from its previous rustic look. Meats to expect include the Bistecca alla Griglia, a 1kg Australian bone in rib-eye steak with Tuscany rub along with sautéed broccolini, a glorious meat good to share for a few pax. For pasta, the Risotto Gamberi e Melone is the crowd’s favourite where the arborio risotto with rock melon is topped with fresh, red prawn tartare along crispy cappers. Conclude the meal with Pete’s Tiramisu where the chef serves it tableside by scooping each serving off a big plate for a dramatic ending. [Read more here for our full review]

New Autumn Menu At Yakiniquest
The Japanese Yakiniku restaurant located at Mandarin Gallery launched its new Autumn Menu and it is a good value menu to say the least. The Signature “Yakisuki” is one of our favourite courses, where it features the centre of sirloin and is a specially seasoned premium cut of meat. It is presented in a sukiyaki-style, where you dip the grilled meat into the raw egg. The Tare seasoned premium cuts course reminded us of our trip to Takayama. Coined as “Houba Yaki” which pays tribute to a local cuisine of the Hida Region, it is a dish prepared by grilling miso, premium wagyu and veggies on a single leaf of the Japanese Magnolia (Houba). We love the combination of Rump cut and Tomo Sansuku (Tri-Tip Steak which is part of the round tip from beef thigh) is very flavourful. [Read more here for our full review]
