Hotel Review: The St. Regis Singapore At Tanglin Road | King Bed Penthouse Room With Cityscape View
The Hotel Nestled at the quieter end of Orchard Road, I checked out The St. Regis Singapore recently after the hotel has undergone a major revamp of its rooms and dining concepts over the past year. A short introduction of the Marriot Bonvoy’s property location is that it is a short walk to both Orchard MRT station on the North-South Line and Orchard Boulevard MRT station on the Thomson-East Coast Line, as well as within close proximity to the UNESCO-listed Singapore Botanic Gardens. Of course, it is also very close to Orchard Road, the most well-known shopping belt in Singapore.

The hotel’s lobby exudes a grand vibe with predominantly marble finishings. My check-in process was seamless, and the reception staff did explain the facilities in the property, as well as the butler service.

Yes, butler service is available for guests, which include coffee or tea which the butler team is happy to send to your room upon check-in.

The Room Every room in the property was refurbished in the past year, and it now spots a more contemporary interior as compared to what it was, as evident in my previous stay here almost nine years ago. I checked into the King Bed Penthouse Room with Cityscape View which is located on one of the highest floors of the building, with a panoramic sweeping view of the lush surroundings.

At the entrance of the room is where the minibar is located, along with the bathroom on one side.

It is a spacious and efficient layout of the room (52sqm/560sqft) where there is plenty of room to walk around.

I love the couch area, which is great to relax, as well as the work desk which is spacious enough to place two laptops.

It is always nice to find automated blinds and curtains in a hotel room, and happy to report that the bed is firm enough for my liking.

The bathroom is luxuriously appointed as well with a big bathtub, walk-in shower zone and double vanity sinks.

The Facilities As mentioned earlier, the 24-hour butler service is a signature highlight.
For wellness, Remède Spa has quite a couple of treatment rooms with complete spa facilities such as sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Hotel guests are able to use the spa facilities for 45 minutes each day even if they did not book any treatments.

The outdoor pool, while not massive, is well-maintained with plenty of pool beds.

The gym is right beside the pool and is reasonably well-equipped, open 24 hours.

Another noteworthy mention is that there is a daily Champagne sabrage ritual at the lobby at 6.30pm where all guests are welcomed to grab a glass of complimentary champagne.

Most people might not be aware but one of the hotel’s most unique features is its private art collection, which includes works by renowned Nanyang artists. For those into arts, you can request a guided tour by the butlers.
The Restaurants For Cantonese cuisine, Yan Ting is one of the most prominent Chinese restaurants in Singapore. It also serves a weekend dim sum brunch buffet.

Located on the lobby level is The Tea Room and The Patisserie, where Tearoom only reopened this year after a revamp to the space. This is where you can enjoy an Afternoon Tea session with fresh brew by Tanamera Coffee & Roastery or teas by Taylors of Harrogate (read here for full review of The Tea Room).

One of the newest openings in the property is also St. Regis Bar which took over what used to be the space of Astor Bar. It is a completely new sleek look where the bar is inspired by early 20th-century Manhattan.
The all-day dining concept located at the lobby level is The Astor Grill, which is where breakfast is served as well. The interior of the restaurant spots a high ceiling, and it is spacious such that each table is not to close to the other.

Breakfast is a buffet spread where you get a mix of Asian and Western dishes, pastries, sushi, and more.

There is also a small ala carte menu to order your preferred type of eggs and one of the signatures dishes which is the lobster omelette topped with caviar. You can also expect local delights such as kaya toast with eggs. The other notable mention is that Tanamera Coffee is served too.

Other dining concepts in the hotel include Japanese restaurants – Shinji by Kanesaka and Tentsuru.
Rants As compared to other five-star hotels in Singapore, the breakfast buffet spread is not as extensive.
Overall Experience it is great that The St. Regis Singapore has now revamped all their rooms and suites which spot a more contemporary design than before. Their dining concepts are also refreshed, which is timely for a property which has been opened since 2007. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member, then this is one property to stay which is ideal for tourists or business travellers.
