Hotel Review: The St. Regis Singapore Hotel Staycation | The Perfect Way to spend your Weekend
The Hotel Definitely one of the most premium hospitality property here in Singapore, The St Regis Singapore has been one of our few dream staycation destination. And what else can I say, dreams do come true! Nestled in the quaint corner of Orchard, in the Tanglin vicinity, sits the St Regis Singapore; together with their host of dining offerings, Yan Ting, LaBrezza and Brasserie Le Saveurs. While we have visited these restaurants previously, spending a night in one of their rooms made that weekend one of the best hotel stays we ever had.
The Room We checked ourselves into their mid-tier rooms, the Penthouse Rooms. And if you have been a loyal SPG member, you will get to enjoy the higher floors at the hotel. More important than I though, my room on the 18th floor got me an unobstructed view of the Botanic Gardens and on a good weather, you can even spot the Bukit Timah Hill at the far end!
The decor at St Regis takes on a more classic grandeur look, with white walls, red and yellow fabric pairings and polished wooden finishes to complete the luxury feel. With the smallest room here starting at 50sqm, you are getting more space to chill in and that’s made better when the hotel adds more than enough sofa space for two to soak in, while flipping the endless pile of in-room magazines! And yes, that unlimited free wifi and TV channels I took some good time to channel-flip.
Another pleasing feature of the room was definitely the centerpiece of the bathroom is the tub! Done with a in-toilet TV screen, with surround sound audio system, you will have a hard time contemplating where best to chill your time away during the weekends – Sofa with view of the greens, Bathtub with the company of your TV and that soak in the water, or yes, the Bed!
The Facilities Heated Pool, nothing less, with a 24 hour gym just by it’s side. Have to admit that the heated waters worked perfectly when we swam just before our breakfast, wishing this will be the way I start my day, everyday. And if doing spa is your kind of thing, our experience at Remède Spa will be nothing short of your ideal spa to visit. We were impressed much and decided that it warrants a separate review of its own. Read on to find out more about our experience at Remède Spa here.
The Restaurants Breakfast here is served at the Brasserie Le Saveurs restaurant at the lobby of the hotel. Good quality spread, coupled with an all-breakfast menu, where diners can get to select one of the extensive choices. I must highly recommend you to go for the Lobster Bisque Omelette, it was to-die-for good!
And if your preference is to chill in the hotel throughout the staycation, you will be glad to know that The St Regis Singapore has various other dining concepts, including its ever popular Cantonese restaurant, Yan Ting (check out our review of Yan Ting’s Dim Sum Brunch here), and the colonial-decor Jazz Bar, Astor Bar. Skipping the crowd, we decide to head for some pizzas at the smaller pool-side Italian restaurant, LaBrezza. If I have not mention this, you can get to enjoy a 25% discount off the total bill at any of the dining establishments here at St Regis as a Supper Club member of the hotel!
The Weekend St Regis Singapore definitely put my staycation experience a notch higher, a six-star standard admittedly. A staycation is not complete if you don’t feel rejuvenated after, and I felt uplift from the awesome room, great facilities (and spa) and all the feasting. While I check-out of the hotel, there was a part of me hoping the weekend doesn’t end this soon.
