Hotel Review: Regent Bali Canggu | One Bedroom Suite Ocean View
The Hotel After staying at Como Uma Canggu, I checked into the one year old Regent Bali Canggu, which is located along the same Batu Bolong Beach. Regent Bali Canggu is located within the same premise as Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu, and it shares the same main entrance. Batu Bolong is quite a vibrant district of Canggu, surrounded by trendy cafés like Gigi Susu and Baked, restaurants and more.

The main driveway into Regent Bali Canggu is the same as Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu, and I was greeted by the expansive driveway as I approached the resort. The main check-in lobby is open air and exudes a resort vibe instantly, while club guests get to check-in at Regent Club instead.

It is a big property, and the landscape of Regent Bali Canggu is a blend of lush nature and contemporary building architecture.

The Room The suites at Regent Bali Canggu range from spacious Studio and King Suites to expansive premium One‑Bedroom ocean view and lagoon‑access suites, many featuring separate dining and sitting areas, private balconies, and striking handcrafted bathtubs.

I checked into the One Bedroom Suite Ocean View which is a spacious 87 sqmt. It features one king bed, a living area and an ocean view as it is perched above the coastline.

Upon entering the suite, there is a spacious walk-in wardrobe area, followed by the spacious living room which opens onto a balcony where you can soak in the surroundings.

The minibar is complimentary for guests, where comes with cocktails, gin, snacks, coffee and tea.

The bedroom area is separated from the living room, and you get charging points on both sides of the bed. I love the very hard texture of the mattress.

In addition, there is also a work desk by the window.

The bathroom is another highlight for me, which comes with separate bath and walk-in shower.

One of the features which caught my eyes is the wooden bath tub, which is one of its kind in terms of design.

I also appreciate the double vanity sinks, Japanese Toto washlet system for the toilet, as well as Dyson hairdryer.
The Facilities If there is one thing which the resort does not lack, it is the fact that there are nine swimming pools.

The pools are spread across Regent Club, the main area of the resort beside Taru restaurant, at some of the resort’s buildings where the rooms are located, as well as at the Beach House.

My favourite pool is the Beach House, an infinity pool with a beach view.

It feels the most relaxed to me, and there are private cabanas to choose from. I also appreciate that the staff will help to make the bed with towels and offer snacks and iced water.

For fitness junkies, the Health Club is quite a decent gym to work out and it also comes with a yoga studio.

I didn’t manage to try any treatments at Regent Spa, but the treatment rooms do look very well-appointed.

Within the spa premise are also wellness facilities such as a warm jacuzzi pool, cold plunge pool and sauna, complimentary for guests to enjoy.

One area I spent most of my time at was at Regent Club, which serves up all-day buffet and a-la-carte dishes, alcoholic beverages, daily afternoon tea and evening cocktails inclusive of champagne.

There are outdoor and indoor seats at the club lounge, and it also has adult-only cabanas and an infinity pool exclusive for club lounge guests to use.

For kids, there is Regent Kids which is a playroom for children, as well as The Library where kids or adults can indulge in board games, snooker, and other games.
The Restaurants The all-day dining concept here is Taru, a sleek beachfront restaurant offering a global menu with Indonesian, Spanish, and international influences.

I had breakfast at Taru and it is quite good overall in terms of spread and quality. There is a buffet line where you can get pastries, fruits, salad, cold cuts like smoked salmon, and more.

In addition, you can also choose from an ala carte menu (unlimited of course) for your preferred eggs, avo toast, Indonesian delights like Mee Goreng, and more.

The coffee served is by Tanamera Coffee, a local Indonesian brand. Needless to say, there are also options like coconut water, and local Jamu drink.

Beach House is another dining concept if you want to dine with a sea view for International bites and cocktails.

I managed to have dinner at Sazón which is located right at the entrance of the resort along the main road (right beside Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu).

This new dining concept is led by award-winning Chef Andrew Walsh, and it focuses on Mediterranean cuisine. It is a sleek space to say the least, which is quite a nice dining vibe in Canggu. Food wise, all the dishes I tried are fairly competent.

Other dining concepts in the resort include The Lounge which is a casual spot for coffee, tea and wines, overlooking the resort’s cascading pools.

A dining concept yet to be opened yet during my stay is Cure which take cues from Chef Andrew Walsh’s Singapore flagship that earned him a Michelin Star. Cure should be an exciting one to look out for, as it is located right beside Beach House, so I can imagine that it will be a gorgeous ocean view from the restaurant.
Of course, there is also the Regent Club which offers lunch, afternoon tea and evening canapes and drinks.
The ala carte lunch menu at Regent Club is extensive to say the least, as there are proper starters and main courses presented just like any restaurant, instead of merely offering it as a buffet.

Rants Prices for the entry level rooms are on the premium side.
Overall Experience It was a pleasant stay for me at Regent Bali Canggu. This is one of the most luxurious properties in Canggu right now, and the facilities are good to say the least, especially if you love to swim. There is no need to step out of the resort if that is what you are looking for in a beach vacation.
