Hotel Review: Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu | IHG Property With Rooftop Pool & Sea View
The Hotel My first time to Canggu, Balim this year and I stayed at the newly opened Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu, a IHG property. The new hotel is one of the few big hotel chains in Canggu other than Como Uma Canggu, and the soon to be opened Regent Canggu later this year.

Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu is located along one of the most buzzing roads of Canggu where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes options within minutes’ walk from the resort. The check-in area is airy and exudes a nice tropical retreat vibe with wooden furnishing.

It is a contemporary design, and it does feel and look quite different from the standard Holiday Inn properties in the cities.

The Room I checked into the Standard Room (32sqm) with a king-size bed on the top floor of the hotel on level 5. It is a compact-sized room with an efficient layout.

My room has a balcony that opens out to a sea view.

You can expect standard features like a small coffee table, work desk, storage compartment for your luggage, and a bathroom which opens up to the room should you choose to.

The mattress of my king size bed is very hard, to my liking. You get charging points on both sides of the bed which is great.

The bathroom comes with a standing shower zone with marble flooring and glass panel door, though there is no bidet for the toilet bowl. The wardrobe is within the bathroom section. One of my gripes is that the in-room slippers are too flimsy. In terms of sound proofing, I can still hear the occasional road honking (me being a light sleeper).
The Facilities The main draw of this property has to be the rooftop infinity pool on level 5. It is a decent size pool where you can catch a beautiful sunset against the backdrop of the sea.

There is also a small zone for kids where the depth of the water is very shallow.

Unfortunately, there is no jacuzzi.
The fitness centre is located on level 2 and is decently equipped and spacious. If you are into weights, there are no heavy weights for dumbbells during my visit.
The Restaurants The only restaurant on-site for now is Roomah, an all-day dining restaurant located on ground floor.

I had breakfast at Roomah where there is a buffet spread along with an ala carte menu to choose from with a mix of local Balinese, Asian and International delights.

Expect the likes of Nasi Goreng, Porridge and Avocado Toast with Eggs Benedict.

The other dining concept is the Rooftop Pool Bar where you can order from the food menu while chilling by the pool as well as cocktails or mocktails.

Rants There is no spa in the resort.
Will I Return Again? For IHG members, this is one property to consider staying. If you have been thinking about checking out Canggu, the resort’s location is ideal as it is convenient to get to the beach or restaurants, and massage options in the vicinity.
